It's no use and barely merits tier 3 difficulty aside for dex filler purposes. If anything it should be a T2 and not a T3.
Also in the real games it's an awesome pokemon but this game ruined it utterly because every quality it had in the main series (The support moves it has) and the advantage of having a high defense stat were stripped in this game.
Wouldn't it make more sense to put Gardevoir or Salamence in T4 or Metang in T1 instead?
Most likely they don't want to make the non-nesting species that easy to get. Tyranitar in tier 4 sold a lot of passes but it wrecked gen 2's longevity. We have no idea how long they plan to make gen 3 last.
You said it yourself, Claydol is challenging. I agree that their choices aren't perfect, but it's not the worst tier 3 choice since there's a definite audience for challenging solos.
Salty because you can't take him down in time? Why should they hand out Beldum, Ralts, and Bagon candy so easily in raids? That would be stupid and annoying, and make trivial the obtaining of multiple Metagross, Gardevoir, and Salamence. I hope these three never show up in raids.
You strike me as the kind of person who wants everything handed to him on a silver platter, and you throw hissy fits when things happen that don't fit that criteria. Claydol is a tremendously challenging L3 raid, and as a result it adds to the excitement of solo-raiding. Some people like a challenge, and don't bitch and moan about every change Niantic makes. Does this piss-poor attitude of yours infiltrate other aspects of your life?
