What is 1 "Defense" worth in terms of Dust and Candy (Dratini)

Instead of your normal which should I evolve question, I've already decided. Im curious in a vote sense which way people would go.

1) Level 22 Dratini 15 attack 15 hp 12 def
2) Level 17 Dratini 15 attack 15 hp 13 def

So 22 Dratini Candy and 24800 Stardust for 1 Def

Like (Up) the reply before if you would do the higher one

Dislike (Down) the reply if you would do the lower one.

Higher level? Or Higher IV?

I would definitely do the higher IV, but that's just me. 20 or so candy isn't a huge issue.

Higher IV ofc, u can farm candys and stardust eventualy, u cant farm IVs

If you are planning to use this D9 as a defender then every point counts due to the gym placement. If not, 1 def iv do NOT make any difference at the level of D9's stats in atk performance since dmg calculation is rounding down numbers.

I didn't think the vote would be this lopsided.

Especially for a Dragonite. For Dragonite/Tyrantir 1 Def isn't going to make or break Gym Placement.
as a Gym would need 10 better Dragonites/Tyrantirs only to keep a Dragonite out. For Snorlax-Gyrados-Rhydon 1 IV might make quite a bit of placement difference.

Do the higher level first so that when you get a horribly disappointing moveset you have another better Dratini to save and try again. ;-)

Didn't vote on your poll cos I wasn't sure whether you meant higher CP or IV. Personally I would go with the level 22. I wouldn't say 1 def IV is worth 22 precious Dratini candy, especially when it's moveset is more what's going to make or break it.

That said, at the moment I'm not powering up or evolving anything. 'Save your candies' might have meant nothing, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!
