Well, thanks Nianitc for ruining this event...

There were plenty of days before the event where they could have brought up that Pikachu thing with a hat of a designer I have absolutely no clue who that is. They are non mass-transferable, take a ton of balls and take away spawn spots for actually valuable pokemon like Eggy, Abra, Slowpoke, Ralts and Beldum.
Im sure Niantic will keep it as with every event before, the first few days the rare rate is quite high and it will get lowered significantly after that. Thus, even if its just for 2 days, that Pikachu bullshit just ruins it completely. What a waste...

I agree, this Pika hat thing is pretty pointless UNLESS they made them super rare & a collector's item. Have thought this from past hat events, sometimes less is more & flooding the map with them serves little purpose. How many of you would be out hunting them if they spawned at say, shiny rates & for a limited time of only afew days? And thus the excitement in finding one would be real, instead of what we have now, folks upset cos they can't mass transfer them. Keeping things special means more to people, and for an otherwise pretty useless mon, opportunity missed imo. You can get the shiny hat variant so not all bad but like the op says, the rate they are spawning at takes up spaces which could be filled with ralts, etc.

1. They are only available for 48 hours.
2. The shiny is available
3. You don't have to catch them
4. If you expected cluster spawns of Ralts and Beldum, you were fooling yourself

The cluster spawns of Beldum are later this month.

1. Niantic usually has rare spawn rates high at the beginning only.
2. Omg, who cares.
3. Dust is too precious to skip them.
4. 6 Ralts, 2 Beldums in 2h pre-Pikachu. 2 Ralts after. Nuff said.

On number 3 ... If you want to be able to see anything other than hatachu shadows on the tracker, you got no choice.

For us folk here in Britain, The endless Mr.Mime spawns are more annoying.

At least hat Pikachu disappears soon, and evolves.

All regionals are boosted, not just the inevitable Mime. I caught a months worth of Illumise just sitting at a soft play for 3 hours.

Not true, we have regular Heracross and Corsola spawn rates here
