I was really looking forward to some proper rewards for walking 90+km this week. Went on a long walk yesterday without spinning stops (which was quite hard) to get some eggspaces and made sure I also had some space in my pokemon box.
This morning reality hit: no eggs and no rare candy. 500 dust extra is not a consolation price it's an insult.
Any one else got more luck? Kinda interested now what the chances are.
Unfortunately there's randomness involved so I would not go to significant lengths to free those egg spaces unless you really value the chance to get Shinx or Riolu (I do).
Another thing you can do for walks is to have your pokemon storage full, that way you can spin stops and not get eggs, but it's pretty painful to play that way.
It is all in the Adventure Sync Guide, rewards are for 5km 20 Poke Ball, 25km 10 Great Ball, 50km 5 Ultra Ball.
Additionally you get for 25 km one out of 500 Stardust or 1 Rare Candy or one 5km Egg, for 50 km either 1500 Stardust or 3 Rare Candy or one 5km Egg or one 10km Egg.
These rewards are cumulative and, I assume, in typical Niantic fashion random with equal chances. Thus the big prices have a 1:3 chance for one candy at 25 km, at 50 km 1:4 for a 10 km egg, 1:6 for a total of 3 candy and 1:12 for a total of 4 candy. Also 1:12 for 1 candy AND a 10 km egg; 1:6 for only the 10 km egg.
Summary: Don't hold your breath. Be happy if you are lucky.
Apparently the walk from my apartment to my car then from my car to my desk was enough to trigger an egg hatch when I opened the game, leaving me with a free egg space when the adventure sync rewards were gifted. Netted a 5k egg, I only cleared the 25km requirement.
I wish they kept the original dust rewards. They fit more for the amount of effort put in.
