Weather or event?
Is the increase in weather specific Pokemon due to the event, or did they change the odds? I have always been slightly annoyed with the weather because some types seem misrepresented. For example, during cloudy weather, I see almost exclusively poison types, even tho I should see fighting also...until today. At level 39 I had only SEEN 86 Machops. Then today, a cloudy day, like I often have, I catch nearly 40 Machops and have candy to feed an army. Oddly enough, not ONE SINGLE Makuhita. Is this the to the event?

It's because they completely mixed up the biome in this event. I see lots of doduo, machops, ponyta, karps, geodudes, eggs and gastly. All come from different biome and won't be found together normally. Weather boost add a multiplier to the spawn rate, so it only boost what can normally spawn. Since during the event machop rate is higher where you are, then with cloudy weather they are everywhere.
