We as a community can figure out how to best throw balls at Kyogre! I think....

This question will vary depending on which way people curve. I personally can't hit Kyogre when it's in the middle with a curved throw, it generally goes way left due to its distance. The optimal position for me is for it to be on the left side (or right for those that curve the other way) and attack. Waiting for that can seem like ages so I've started just throwing straight throws when in the middle. I've also become used to throwing curves with my thumb and straights with my pointer finger. I look like I'm doing wax on wax off getting ready for the thing to attack! I can't figure out how to get the curve ball bonus on the thing when it's in the middle and am just settling for straight balls. I also don't have access to ar + that they are shoving down our throats.

A friend of mine posted on reddit how he manages to throw excellent curves on Kyogre

After only catching 1 of 3 yesterday, on a lucky not great throw, I'm wondering about trying a higher release point. I curve right to left, counter clockwise spin and try for great in the middle. I only landed about a third of the throws, and over half fell short, no matter how much force I used. Kyogre seems so far away, and I hate to go to straight throws after working so hard on my curve. I'm considering trying a higher release point and more of an arcing lob for distance, but the ball takes longer to hit and gives more time for an attack while in midair. Toughest legendary so far for me to hit.

I went to the AR+ mode. I stand very close and put him on the opposite side of where my curve originates. I then do a VERY short diagonal flick. Every throw is a great or excellent curve. No misses and I’m now 3/4 today doing this.

I'll need to practice regular mons on AR+, I always hated it before because of the extra movement it creates.

AR+ mode is the way to go.. missed 8 balls out of 10 on the normal way. Tried AR+ and hit him every time.. and caught him.
