Wait for double EXP?

Since longer I have the problem of reaching the Pokémon space limit more and more often.
Now I finally cleaned up and got rid of all the useless stuff. Even of this event things/Legendaries u have click individally (needs hours...).

Have some space left, but it wont last long and at some point it isnt fun anymore if u have to check the box every 20min cuz its full again. I hoped a double EXP Event would come and solve the problem but it didnt.

I'm already level 40. Would you evolve now? (losing about 1Mio EXP)

You are at level 40 so zero rush.

Trades will drop to next to nothing at the next friend level in a couple of weeks.

WAIT and swap mon to get the bonus candy then dump at double candy event. There will be a Double XP for all and a Double Dust and Double Candy coming soon. There always is.

I know about this strategy but there is nothing desireable that I dont have the candy (w/o Legendaries where the trades are too expensive)

And for Pidgey, Weedle, Whismur Candy I want less not more ;-)
Saved them to evolve and not gonna trade them away. Otherwise I ll never be back to zero again.

The level 40 thing doesn't affect this much. It's highly likely that the level cap will go up. Not sure how that will affect gameplay, but when I hit 40 (a while, just hit 39 doing Articuno raids), I'll continue to evolve my 12's, crack lucky eggs at opportune times when I have them (but won't buy them), etc.

Once the level cap is off, XP will matter again for almost everyone who is level 40. So don't just blow off XP once you hit 40.

I stop mass evolving at the time i reach level 38.
To be honest, i enjoyed PoGo more since not grinding anymore for XP
Have more time to set up my counter, battle raid boss, tinkering about what pokemon that i have to powerup or not, using alternative pokemon to raid, etc
I raid less for legendaries also, just go with a group until i have around 6, after that i only do it when they become interesting like accepting when friend ask to raid with 4 trainers for regice for example.
Or to help others, happen when i met 4 senior citizen at a gym when there is regice raid, but the group is on the other side of the area and not enough time left. I just told them that if they want, i will help them with my 2 account. The look on their faces when we winning it is priceless..
So yeah i dont need XP anymore being a level 40, millions XP dont mean anything for me. If level cap is increased i just grinding again if i see the benefit of it.

The current global research reward is 3x Catch XP which should compensate for lost XP from mass evolves. Since you are already level 40, additional XP has no in-game benefit to you, only bragging rights.

Mass evolving for XP is super boring and I think something that Niantic never intended. You are already level 40, so why bother?

Transfer your evolve fodder, then go out somewhere with a lot of lures, use a lucky egg (which is currently extended to 1 hour long) and catch a lot of pokemon (which currently give 3x catch exp). I was running lucky eggs for community day and I was getting over 1000xp for most of my catches.

Since we are currently in the middle of an exp bonus event and we have candy and stardust bonus events scheduled for the rest of the summer, I'd say the chances of double exp for evolving anytime soon are slim to none. We'd be looking at September at the earliest for such an event. I would evolve your fodders now or trash them and store the candy for future.

With trading becoming a thing, everyone will need more storage. If nothing else, you don't know what someone else will want, so if you want to trade with more people, you gotta have more stuff. Level 35 meta-relevant pokemon with terrible IVs, great for trading. 98% at level 4, not so great for trading. Poor IV legendaries? Trade them for a pokemon from over 100 km away, get 3 candy instead of the one the professor will give you. Something thats common in your area but rare elsewhere, save a bunch to trade. I'm going to Western Asia in September, so I'm stocking up on Tauros to trade with trainers I meet, hope to get Corsola or Torkoal.

Pokemon storage space is more important than ever, especially with gen 4 getting ready to roll out in probably the next 1-4 months. Spend the coins now, have the storage space forever.
