Vote: Stone Edge VS Crunch On Tyranitar

I prefer to have a few of each, because they have different applications. But if I could only have one T-tar, I guess I would choose crunch.

I loathe Crunch and hope for the day when Tyranitar gets a good Dark charged move. Not that Stone Edge is terrific, mind you. In general, the move options (fast and charged) for Ttar are abysmal.

Give the stone edge job to golem its much better. Exception: vs articuno you actually want IT/Stone edge ttar but that's about it

Stone Edge was usually better for TTar as a generalist, and was extra useful in dealing with the first wave of legendaries. With the new CP decay system multi-bar charge moves are favored.

Crunch better suits TTar as a dark specialist, and with the advent of powerful legendary Pokemon replacing most generalists, as well as Gen 3 on the horizon, his ideal role is as a dark specialist.

Stone Edge still suits a TTar fine, especially if you don't have many other powerful Pokemon. He's bulker than a Dragonite (though with a few less resistances) and is better suited for dodging (unless you have a legacy Dragonite). However, be prepared for slightly longer battles when using TTar as a generalist.

I like both and have one of each maxed out. But crunch gets more use, and I prefer the double dark move set. I do wish crunch had a lower cooldown, though.

personally i like to have two moves of the same type so it always has maximum type effectiveness however if they bring lugia back i will change a few to stone edge as it has the edge in this matchup
