Venusaur

Razor leaf has higher DPS than vine whip and petal blizzard has higher DPS than solar beam. His doesn't mean that RL/PB > VW/SB.
Comparing moves by DPS only can be very misleading.

Petal Blizzard was a good move when it only cost 50 energy. At twice the cost though its value has gone down a lot.

Vine Whip charges energy faster and is easier to dodge while using. Solar Beam deals more damage per energy.

Razor Leaf/Petal Blizzard appears to be the worst offensive moveset for Venusaur.

yeah..technically the actual dps of each move is higher.

but theres other factors they use when actually 'rating' a move and how good or bad it is.

Things like energy generated on the quick moves, energy cost on the charge moves. Time the move takes etc.

Basically a move can do allot of dmg, but if it uses twice the amount of energy to use than another, then its actual value compared is worse.

I myself am a owner of Razor Leaf + Petal Blizzard Venusaur... and its the only one I have.
I would love it to be good. However I would still prefer Solar Beam.

Petal Blizzard rates as higher DPS because it is such a faster move to fire.

100 damage / 2.6 seconds is better than 180 / 4.9

The problem becomes DPS is a crappy way to look at charge moves. The question becomes what can you do with that 2.3 Seconds.

I prefer DPE (Damage per energy)
Or really DPC (Damage per cycle of recharging)

This is "Rough" way to look at Cycles with RL
You can fire 2 extra razor leafs in Solar Beams cooldown yielding 26 more damage and 14 extra energy.

This brings PB up to 126 + 14 energy vs 180 for solar beam. So what's better 14 Energy or 54 damage?

54 damage by a long shot.

There will be RARE cases where PB outpreforms but your looking at ONLY if the pokemon if u get the 2nd petal blizzard off where you wouldnt get a 2nd razor leaf. But thats a tiny window.

Vine Whip vs Razor Leaf is a bit more complicated
as VP is about 30% more energy gained and RL is about 15% more dps. Generally VW will outpreform but there are more cases of 1 Solar Beam Cycle + RL beating the pokemon where 1 SB/VW doesnt
