Vaporeon water pulse?
Is a high IV vaporeon water pulse still worth powering up? I have two of these guys that were my pride defenders from before the update. Now they look more like low DPS attackers. The rule used to be that any vaporeon moveset is good. Is that still true? And why the hell did they hack 4 beat charge moves anyway? It is one thing to retire a move, but to change it is kinda dumb I think.

I have a bunch of these, and was really disappointed when they basically switched aqua tail and water pulse. I'm not powering them up anymore, but still use them as lower-string defenders. Also, who knows what will happen to movesets in the future. Maybe they'll switch back water pulse and aqua tail.
It's still better than Hydro Pump on defense, but I don't expect people to agree with me on that point. Over time it will deal a significantly larger chunk of damage, assuming you are dodging charge moves -- but it's still suboptimal compared to Aqua Tail. But in terms of damage dealt on defense, the gap between Aqua Tail and Water Pulse isn't as great as the gap between Water Pulse and Hydro Pump.
I fight a lot of Vaps every day and personally I think HP is now the best, closely followed by AT. They have made HP much harder to dodge, and it obviously hits like a truck.
And to answer the question, I would just use the Vaps as low end defenders ( even with WP they are not "bad" defenders if the CP is high) but wouldn't power them up further.
