Vaporeon: Give your opinion!

Vaporeons are without a doubt the most used Pokemon as gym defenders in my town. I face them quite often on the battle field and I assume this does not differ too much in your location.

I am actually interested in your opinion about the best moveset for a defending vaporeon. Originally, I considered vaporeons with Water Pulse absolutely garbage. However, experience taught me water pulse for defending vaporeons are more annoying as they are more frequently used and less predictable.

I am curious about your findings. In particular, what is your opinion on aqua tail versus water pulse for a defending vaporeon.

My arguments to prefer water pulse over aqua tail are as follows:
1. Less predictable. Often you want to use your charge attack right after their special attack. Even when aqua tail can be used two times in a row, this rarely happens during a fight causing you to take more damage by water pulse because you are not able to dodge when using an attack such as solar beam.
2. Animation. In my opinion the animation of water pulse is more similar to water gun than aqua tail. Making it more akward to dodge.

In short, I would give the following rankings to different move sets:
Water Gun + Water Pulse -> Defender
Water Gun + Aqua Tail -> All Rounder
Water Gun + Hydro Pump -> Attacker

Making any vaporeon valuable

I'll add that when I'm an attacker, while I always try to dodge hydro pump and usually try to dodge aqua tail, I don't bother dodging water pulse (because it's harder to see the attack coming, it happens soooo frequently that dodging it would make battles take forever, and in my mind it's the "low-DPS" move). I have a feeling that as a result I take more damage from pulse-Vaporeons than either other type.

It has been graded A for Defending right in this site. And I agree too. If a Vaporeon Defender has Hydro Pump or Aqua Tail, it's very easy to dodge, especially with quick pokemons like Jolteon, Tangela...

Thanks, I actually didn't notice it was graded A in this site. I saw the discussion on different forums and was interested in other people's opinion.
