Value of Gen 3 Babies

I took me a while to hatch my first Gen 3 babies, aka Azurill and Wynaut. But after quite a few hatches of each of them, I feel they are just useless and taking too much precious space in the bag. So is it worth to keep them for maybe some trading purpose or should I just trash them to Professor?

Useless in baby form.

Usable at their last evolutions as defenders but nothing that would surpass a Steelix or a Cleffable.

So keep only if you like to have a diversity of options for gym defending other than the mandatory Blisslaxchaking. Otherwise, just grind them. I mean, transfer them. Personally, I wouldn't trade anything for a baby I didn't have because they are sure to hatch AT SOME POINT. At most keep one if decent IVs just in case...

Wobbuffet is actually pretty great for a few things and I'd definitely rate it higher than Steelix and maybe Clefable as a defender. Besides Chansey, it has the greatest ratio of bulk to CP, which makes it good for holding gyms overnight and still providing a speedbump for an opponent. This also puts it to top3 of defenders that are the best at wasting the attacker's time. Wobbuffet gives so little badge XP due to its low CP that it's on the level of Chansey and Blissey in how little return the attacker gets for their time investment.
And it resists Machamp so you can put it between normal types.

Good to know this. But I guess I won't invest any dust into Wobbuffet just for gym defending, as I already have a line of Chansey/Blissey to invest. May save a few for lucky dex trading.

You don't really need to ever invest in it if you use it, Wobbuffet does its job pretty adequately even at level 20. But it's not crucial or important by any means, just has this niche that I think is pretty neat.

I've battled maxed versions of all those; Wobbuffet doesn't hold a candle to the other two in real life. It does sound great on paper, as you thoroughly described and has several advantages over them, but it's just not as good in practice.

Anyone trying for a lucky pokedex would be very interested in trading them from you and probably willing to give you something pretty good in exchange. If you don't think you could find anyone like that, they're just taking up space.
