Usefullness moving forward and TMs

So I have 4 FTM and 1 CTM and I am at a point where I am wondering what is my best option of use if any. I have 1 double rock Ttar and figure my other SD one is not super important at the moment. I have a double fire 96 Salamance and a 93 Dragonite with SW/HB and I have not evolved Metagross yet and I have enough candies to evolve a 91 lvl 26 Beldum with 15 attack. Wondering what is my best use moving forward for the meta?

1 FTM and 1 CTM and that Nite is guaranteed to be significantly better.
It may end up with Hurricane, as a worse case scenario but even that is a massive improvement on what you have.

Usually CTMs can be a gamble, and can take many of them to get a preferred moveset, but in the case of that Nite, it is a no brainer.

All that said, it will still only be a very good generalist, but can fit into most teams where you are short of a full squad of optimal counters, and will make a decent gym sweeper.

This is what I have been thinking too. I have 3 Dragonite one each with O, H, and DM. I am really on the fence about if the 96 Salamance gamble is worth the risk knowing the Dragonite is immediately good.

If you had multiple CTMs then that would have made my response different and would have put Salamence in contention - and saving your TMs for that is also a good option - but I would suggest waiting for more CTMs before committing to it, rather than doing it immediately.

At least the Nite is a guaranteed improvement with minimal TM investment.

Well if you already have 3 dragonites with O, DM and H, you don't need another one absolutely. If all 3 of them don't have dragon tail already, time tu use those FTMs. In fact, with your SW/HB Dragonite and you're exactly in the same situation as me (add another SW/DM dragonite). I should TM HB, but since I have more important targets and already have better dragonites with the right movesets, I consider it's not a priority. Actually, SW/HB is the best moveset against grandbull, should it return as a raid boss :D

But since you specifically asked "moving forward for the meta":
- Keep Salamence as is for now ; might be very good against Registeel and Regice (when no ice move).
- TMing Dragonite is indeed a guaranteed improvement, but since you have others, it's not like you're in absolute need of another one right now... except if rayquaza returns this summer, then do it absolutely!
- If you planned on evolving that beldum anyway, do it, see what is its moveset and then decide if it's worth a TM. A steel moveset can be nice against Regirock and Regice.

In any case, I don't think using a TM right now would be very useful. I would say wait a bit and see who is the next T5 raid boss. If Groudon comes back, that means we are in a weather trio rotation and Rayquaza will probably be next, so as soon as Rayquaza is here TM this Dragonite and give it a double dragon moveset. If the regi trio starts, SW Dragonites are actually interesting mons and you'll take more advantage of a double steel Metagross. That said, you don't want HB either against the regis...

Yes, they are all DT Dragonites. Thanks for the advice. Waiting it out to see what comes out and maybe adding more TMs is probably my best option.

I started hording Rare Candy and now it seems like I get 2-4 Rare Candy for every T3 I do. I'm out of Charge TM's and havent seen any drop in weeks. I swear to god , this game nerfs the drop rate on certain items when you need them the most (Ok, I don't really know that but it feels like it)

So my advice is wait until you're in the double-digits on CTM's before using them......unless you have a specific need right now

I was shocked when I got the CTM to be honest. I had not seen one in over 2 months until I got it last week after a lvl 3 solo.

Looks like you should do more tier 3 solos, which means building teams for them. Legendary raids have the highest CTM drop rates, but may not be feasible in your area.

I do as many 3s as I can find when I have the time. Loved this water event for tier 3 soloing cause my teams are stacked to take down Vape, Sharkpedo, and Starmie. Machamp with either DP or HS are issues because I just don't have the high end bulk to miss any dodges.

As strange as it sounds, I sort of second that. I wanted to try that theory that the more of a given item you have in your bag, the more likely you are of receiving some more as raid rewards (for items that *are* raid rewards in the first place of course). Couldn't believe it but since I'm very very low on CTMs I tried that. I raid 2-4 raids a week, mostly T5 and some T3 solos here and there. For the past 6 months, whenever I have 0 CTM in my bag I can wait easily 2 months before the next drop. Whenever I have at least 1-2 CTMs, I receive 1 CTM every week or every other week.

This still feels strange and unlikely. At this point it may still be confirmation bias. But dammit it seems to work...
