Use of lucky egg on raid?
I would like to ask if anyone use lucky egg when on raid? Will it double the XP from the raid (20k for a tier 5 raid) or just double the XP while you catch the pokemon?

Lots of people around here use lucky eggs during raids, but I honestly don't understand why. You get an extra 10k xp or maybe 20k xp if you manage two raids before the egg runs out.
But honestly, you can easily score an extra 35k xp just mass evolving with a lucky egg. More if you do it while catching with a plus/gotcha and hatching eggs.
I suppose if you had 4 legendary raids all next to each other and you didn't bother catching the boss (or were extremely lucky), you could get 40k extra xp. But I highly doubt this is what people are doing.
Plus on my old phone, I could never ever get through an entire evo-session without crashing the app. I could get about 20 evolves done, and the app would crash and I'd spend 2 minutes rebooting it. so +35k was a stretch.
for the extra 35k you'd need at least 70 evos.
Normally, it takes me about a week to get enough for this purpose. Although, I've deliberately set high CP thresholds for the evolutions so now it's about 2 weeks since I'm running low on eggs. But i've got enough candies stored up that it would take a day or two if a double xp event shows up and i drop the CP threshold.
Yes. Best way is to find a trio of Level 5s all next to each other and around same time remaining. 60,000 XP for like 15 minutes (lobby time plus readying to get into the next Raid) of Raiding then you can mass evolve the remaining half.
I'm pretty sure you can get another Raid in for an additional 20,000 XP but you'll have to be extra lucky and find a place with lots of gyms close to each other. Morning raids have been the time to do it when all the eggs go out to start the day. They all have the same time remaining.
