Typhlosion as a defender
I'm getting bored with Snorlax/Vaperon and one Blissey has been stuck in a gym for weeks, with the other needing a fair bit of candy.
A Cyndaquil nest has granted me a 2254 96% Typhlosion. I was hoping for a double fire move, but got ember/solar beam, slightly disappointed, but thinking about it, likely attackers are going to be Rhydon/Vaperon for which Solarbeam is a decent move.
Any experiences, thoughts?
Worth powering up to the max (I can't see me getting enough candy to evolve another before the nest changes, and fire Pokemon are generally rare in my biome.

The only concern is if vaporeon will be able to finish typholson with a hydro pump before it can use solar beam. If that happens he's just as good as a fire defender as any other.
Yet to see a typholson in a gym, but if it is as effective as a charizard (they share the same stats) then I don't fancy the chances of it surviving a HP before solar beam is launched.
