Two Japanese guys soloed it with 6 100 ivs level 40 Machamps, with C/ DP obviously, there’s a video in YouTube of it

Actually, 4 of the 6 Machamps one player used are level 39 instead of 40 (only 1 was 100%). Then the other 2 Machamp were level 26 and level 20 (both 100%).

In normal weather, both players need machamps that hit the final counter breakpoint (level 36.5 with 15 attack). Power up more to gain more cushion against iron tail fire blast.

In cloudy weather I suspect you can try out with a level 30 team for both players. However you cannot tackle any fire blast with just one team with the dodge glitch.

In sunny weather, you might actually need a team 2 regardless of level, a maxed machamp still gets wrecked by fire blast.

They don't need to be anywhere near that good. A team of L30 Machamps or even L35 Hariyamas (all with C/DP, of course) is good enough.

Yes for cloudy weather, however, for normal weather I don't think level 30 machamps will cut it, even if both have a full complement of 6.

L30 Machamp has the DPS but not the TDO. If you could rejoin with minimal delay with another team of L30 Machamps it would be doable in neutral weather.

I think it would be close. It might come down to the T-tar boss's moveset. I have a L30 C/DP Machamp with 73% IV's (14A/9D/10S), and pokebattler says it wins against "unknown moveset" in 345.7 seconds, fainting 12 times, assuming no weather bonus. So, right on the bubble. With phone lag, six L30's might be optimistic, but powering up one or two to L36 would probably be enough to clinch it.

Two with similar teams beat with 10s left, easiest move set though.

Looking on pokebattler, cloudy weather and someone with perfect level 25 Machamps C/DP, no dodging wins against Bite/Crunch in 310 sec. Perfect level 30 Machamps in extreme weather beats Bite/crunch in 331 sec no dodging. Simulations aren't so easily replicated, but if you have a raid map that tells you movesets, pinpoint Bite/crunch...cloudy weather and bring your level 30s

I have been looking at this a lot lately, because a Tyranitar duo is my next major raid goal. According to pokebattler, with no weather boost, my team should be able to do a little more than half the necessary damage against any moveset.

My team currently consists of:

L36 Machamp 2710 C/DP
L34 Machamp 2631 C/DP
L30 Machamp 2393 C/DP
L35 Hariyama 2550 C/DP
L35 Hariyama 2557 C/DP
L35 Hariyama 2501 C/DP

All but the 2nd and 3rd Machamps are powered up to their final quick move breakpoints against T-tar. I am currently powering up the 2nd Machamp as I acquire stardust. Despite having 98% IV's, it will need to go to L37 due to its 14 attack IV (I think L36.5, actually, but I like to power up a full level at a time). I will probably not power up the 3rd Machamp further, because it has only 80% IV's.

With this team as it is, I should be able to do more than my share of a T-tar duo, but powering up the second Machamp to L37 will give me a bit more safety margin.
