Transferred weedle for a box but it showed up again?
Recently i run into a friend during a raid who brought his swift with him. He gave me a box for meltan and in return i gave him weedle.
He told me that weedle would never show up again for me, once transferred for a box.
Gues what.... two days later i catched a weedle in the wild. How is this possible?

As the other response indicates: the specific pokemon you trade is forever removed from your pokemon go account. So if you send your only Shadow Ball Mewtwo to him, there's no getting it back.
However, regardless of what you send, it doesn't affect what you'll see in game in the future. Not sure if he misunderstood and told you wrong, or if you misunderstood him. Either way, no fear. You can transfer any gen 1 pokemon and the only consequence will be that you don't have that pokemon anymore - just like any normal trade.
