Top Defenders list
What do you think of this Defenders list. My brother and I want nothing more than to see different pokemon in gyms so we spent about 4 1/2 hours making and perfecting this list the hp is stamina plus (def×.8) and for the dps we have several formulas to figure it out so hopefully this is the most accurate list out there we cross checked it with trainertips and this site and i think this list is perfect but tell me what you think.

Have you seen this, on this very site?
It has a very neat section 'Outside the Big 7'.

It appears this list is similar to what you have developed, and does it in a very concise way and even gives a nice little easy to read graphic.
Interesting list, although I don't understand the choice of ZH/HB for Snorlax's moveset. I'm always pleasantly surprised when a Snorlax I am attacking has hyper beam (or earthquake), because I know I never need to worry about being hit with a charge move.
Body slam, on the other hand, causes me a lot of problems. However, if you are not considering legacy moves for the purpose of this list, I believe heavy slam is the most difficult Snorlax charge move for an attacker to deal with.
The list looks good, Blissey and Snax should probably be there multiple times but otherwise it looks good. The problem with this and every other list is the fact that it fails to take the real world into account. Most trainers here know that there are better defense oriented pokemon, but given the current gym placement mechanics, half of those Defenders have no place in gyms, other than the 10th spot (for the little while that it'll take for them to be shaved), AND you didn't account for how common the counters are for pokemon in that list, for example steelix is hard countered by vaporeon which in most parts of the world is a very common attacker.
We get it, and we commend you for your efforts, but we'll sadly have to stick to GP's list, because that's how the gym metagame is set up at the moment.
I wanted to keep 1 entry per pokemon, and I agree some of these pokemon have very common counters becasue having 10 different pokemons means that some will need to be in gyms with other pokemon like back when this game was new my friends and I would stack gyms with arcanines and exeggutors and sometimes vaporeon so they can help cover each others weaknesses. But I still appreciate your feedback i might adjust the list a little.
Arcanine is only an honarable mention because of wild charge and dragonite has glaring double weakness to ice so most players can take him out to easy that is why he did not make it on the list. But in your area if ice types are super rare then by all means put dragonite in gyms because he is very strong just when I first started making this list I decided that no pokemon with 2x weaknesses would be included
But this is a glaring omission though. Rhydon with a double weakness will last longer than Arcanine due to its much greater bulk, and attacks vaporeon with STAB neutral moves (which arcanine does not). You're making an arbitrary choice here that is not really justified. The legacy moves omission, I can understand, but omitting double weakness pokemon just because you think they shouldn't be there, is wrong.
EDIT: Though if I do come across a wild charge arcanine, I will probably be less prepared than when I encounter a Rhydon, so I'll give you that.
