Too many rare candies...

After Moltres day I need to dump somewhere and decided to put it into another Groudon. Got one level 30 MS/EQ and the question now is if I should take another MS/EQ or switch to MS/SoB?

Both are almost equal: 98%-15att vs 96%-15att.

Leaning a bit towards another MS/EQ, but what do you think?

You could do a soB variant but probably better to convert to Groudon candies & wait for a possible raid day with a better ground move. No real need for another with EQ.

Agreed with warpig, bank the candy but don't use it. Exclusive move raid days are pretty much guaranteed to happen for all legendaries at this point and for Groudon it will make a huge difference. Also it's not like there's any particular need to power up more Groudons right now.

If you must power up a Groudon I’d use a Ground variant, it’ll at least see use in Dialga raids in the future. But I agree with others, I’d hold off until it gets Precipice Blades

My response to too many RCs these days is to buy more bag space. If you've maxed it out already, find something else to dump. With Gen IV on the way, there will be lots of new targets you'll want that RC for.

As others have said, Groudon is probably a fine repository for RCs but don't power up anything you have currently. Precipice Blade will probably come soon-ish.

As others have said, dump the candies but don't actually power either of them up until a target for either one emerges. Personally I'm trying to save as many candies as I can for Gen 4, just yesterday I broke 400 rare candies on hand. It's hard to not offload them but I know I'll be thankful for it when Gen 4 finally does arrive.

Maybe, but in gen 4 there will be one legendary at a time just like before and while you raid you just will add more candies. It's unlikely that you suddenly need to raise 5 legendaries right away to level 30.

It's probably overkill but I'd rather have em and not need em than be caught without em.

Let's say for example Giratina comes first. Giratina being one of my favorites, I'll be inclined to max out at least one for use in the multitude of raids it will be effective in. To go from 20 to 40 is 248 candies total. Unless I manage to catch ~15 of them that's still half my stash gone. It's less noticeable going from 20 to 30 but the candy cost from 30 to 40 is stupid high and easy to underestimate.

And yes, I know the power gain from 30 to 40 is hardly anything compared to 20 to 30. For favorites like Giratina or Rayquaza I'd rather go big, that's just my play style. I actually have a maxed Ray and another at level 30 and am considering maxing the second one when an appropriate boss arises for it.

Yes, we all have our favorites. I can’t remember when I last used my RayQ. Whenever I hear ”one of the top generalists” I just know it’s another Pokémon I’ll never use.

Same, generalist isn't something I typically consider. Even before LR was revealed to be trash and was overestimated I still wasn't *that* excited for a LR Espeon. At least dragons and ghosts have specialist match-ups that make them worth considering.

I'll trade you 100 revives and 100 max potions for 5 rare candy. Oh, we can't do that.
