Thank you! So many people come on here just to complain that the "noobs" are not being aggressively oppressed by the upper (35+) class, and that niantec is an idiot company. THIS IS NOT 1600'S POLAND. PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT AS HIGH LEVEL THAN YOU ARE NOT YOUR INFERIORS! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BULLY THEM BASED MERELY BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T SPENT THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME AS YOU! So what if someone doesn't know anything about anything, and you do? Does that affect your game play? NO! So what if you live in a rural area and can't get a legendary, but others can? Would it make you feel better if everyone else couldn't get them too? MAYBE IF YOUR A NAZI! Does that person who spoofed to get a 100% dragonite take away your opportunity to get that same dragonite? NO! You shouldn't rate your enjoyment of a game on a scale based on others, because someone will always enjoy it more who, in your eyes, doesn't have the right to. Get over it, wipe up your tears and change your diapers, and focus on your gaming experience, not other people. Sorry for the rant, but its been building for a while.
"Too many legendaries. Game not challenging. Niantic sucks. Waaah waah hurr durr"
This game has never been about skill or anything like that. Like any mobile game, it strips down to luck: Luck of living in an area dense in pokestops, gyms, and rare spawn points; luck of walking at the right place at the right time when a rare spawn takes place; luck of even choosing a team that benefits your desired playing style (if you're like me and you have had the same account since the beginning); luck of getting a favorable RNG result when spinning disks, defeating raid bosses, and getting an actual catch inside a Pokeball; luck of hatching rare Pokemon and getting them with high IVs; luck of getting an EX pass. I could go on all night long.
This is a grinding game not unlike candy crush and all those addicting low-end games designed to keep you hooked. This isn't a main-series game where there are clear objectives and the learning curve is progressive. You make up the challenges for yourself and if you can't find anything that interests you then the best thing you can do is leave. If you grind too hard you are bound to run out of content very fast and you're the only one responsible for it. Just don't blame Niantic for your shortcomings, it's getting tiring to read people complain about their high amount of legendaries, as if Niantic had just placed them in their storage. If you have too many of them it is because you are a hard grinder and maybe even probably spend money in the game on a regular base, but no one has forced you to do that. It's like hearing a millionaire whine that he has too much money that he has worked hard for.
I honestly don't know why I keep playing but there's something I still enjoy about this game even if there's no purpose to it. I destroy blue/yellow gyms left and right every time I come across them, even if I have already gotten my daily 50 coins, just because I can. I still find joy in hatching a cool Pokemon and filling my Pokedex and whatnot. I prefer the new gym system a thousand times more than the old one, which highly favored spoofers. I don't buy items with real money, and, because of that, raids are scarce to me. I get my daily raid and that's it. If it was a legendary, that's cool. If it wasn't, that's cool too. I have about 10 legendaries in total because of the way I've decided to play not spending on passes and I defeated my first Ttar boss for the first time today. The game can still feel special and be more enjoyable if you play more casually and stop taking it so seriously. Just a thought....
But seriously, stop whining about having too many legendaries: it's your fault, own to it like an adult, you babies.

Very good point, I forgot to touch on that subject. So many players are so self-entitled to believe THEY get to choose how other players enjoy the game and become irate at the thought of anyone having fun in a way that they don't, instead of focusing on their own experience and taking the game for what it actually is and not what the DESIRED it was. Hardcore gamers are the worst, even in the mobile game ecosystem; spewing poison everywhere and shitting on the things that even they like. Nothing is more pathetic than a lvl 40 player complaining that s/he has nothing else to do in the game or getting angry at Niantic for letting lower level players get the same "rewards" as them. You got your rewards when you leveled up in the form of a few potions and lucky eggs. Yeah, that was it.
Exactly. Although this doesn't apply to some, if not most level 40 players, those level 40ers who think that the sub 40 shouldn't get the same level of rewards as them forget that they started out at level 1 and worked their way up to level 40, hitting every level that they are hating on, using the rewards that they now want others to not have access to?! Don't be a dick, and don't try and screw others up now that you are done. If your a level 1, go ahead and rant that you shouldn't be equal to a level 40 in rewards. If you aren't, shut up! (And I know that some will say waaah! raids weren't introduced until after I was level 40, why do they get help that I didn't? It goes back to playing your game, and not rating your enjoyment on a scale of others.) Don't be hypocritical now that your at the top, just play the game, and have fun, or quit. Easy as that.
On one side:
Freedom of speech. Also, consider the whining as customer feedback.
If implementing a new feature that encourages competitive gameplay can double their income, do you think Niantic is stupid enough to ignore what their customers want?
On the other side:
Sure, I think quitting is more effective than complaining. If you are going to play the game and spend regardless, then why should Niantic change anything? Make actions.
Good Point. However, when people complain about features they don't like on this site instead of contacting Niantic directly, they show that they don't actually want to try and make change by giving customer feedback, they just want to complain. And if they complain about things that they no longer benefit from but use to, such as level equality in rewards, they are being hypocritical. Legitimate concerns of those players who are genuinely interested in changing the game aren't posted here but are addressed to Niantic directly, as this would be the most effective way to affect change, short of quitting.
Contacting Niantic directly does nothing, you get a bog standard "How was our customer service?" response regardless of what your personal issue is. Filed my issue of my $40 PoGo Plus no longer being able to function under the current Android OS several times, each time got an automated response, with absolutely no help. Complaining on social forums actually may generate community discussion and action, both of which may be more likely to make Niantic take notice than a singular complaint here and there that a freaking robot deals with.
This post proves my point, it's for noobs who want everything given to them. Go does that, so the noobs are happy :)
A similar thing was tried in Russia once, called Communism. It didn't work, it doesn't work in real life. Go however has enabled people to escape that reality of the real world.
I am happy for you guys, you're still noobs ;)
At least in this thread, to which you replied "I am happy for you guys, you're still noobs ;)", there was no question of that in any of the comments nor the original post as far as I can see.
As a matter of fact, I believe OP was promoting quite the contrary: this is a game with set rules. If you join it, accept the rules. If you do not like the rules, better play something else or try to arrange yourself with them. Unlike with communism, you are free to join or leave pogo any which time you like.
if you read the thread i posted (i don't think you have) you will see my gripe was the lack of challenge in the game. Any noob can catch a legendary, it's easy. Any noob can take down a gym, it's easy. There is no challenge whatsoever.
Clearly the OP likes it that way, which is cool. Proves my point that the game is for noobs ;)
I can leave GO happy that i completed everything. While you guys are stuck doing the same thing over and over. I like to progress in life, not stand still ;)
I share the same opinion that this game is dull and not challenging, but you, like the OP, made a post in the Question & Answer section ranting about how this game isn't challenging
If you want a challenge, check out
Play.pokemonshowdown.com
It's so much better than this game and revolves ENTIRELY on strategy (albeit occasionally with a little bit of luck, e.g. Critical hits and missed attacks), AND it doesn't require any grinding! It's not progressed based. I play this more often than Go
Edit: None of those downvotes were mine
Good for you. Don't let us keep you.
Edit: Just re-read your post as per your request. It reads exactly the same as before. When additionally looking at your other posts, I find the only point that was proven today is that you like progress a bit too much for your own good: you are all over the place (as opposed to on topic).
This is complete garbage. The idea that if someone is happy playing a game that makes them a noob is idiotic. I'm a level 40, and have been since April, but because I don't whine about everything, I'm a noob?! I think what you meant to say here was "You disagree with me, so you are inferior to me. Any experienced player will learn that I am always right, and I am the pinnacle of pogo intelligence and experience." I don't care if the level 5 standing next to me has the same chance of catching the legendary as I do, because I don't play the game for domination over others. So if you want to whine and complain about how easy this game is, go ahead, but don't insult me by claiming that I'm your inferior because I disagree.
This response proves my point that whiners are just babies that have no arguments to back up their baby rants. Where in the post did you read anything regarding getting stuff for free? What you're saying here is absolute nonsense spewed out at absolutely no one. Can someone please explain this poor, salty man what the post was actually about? He seems disoriented and confused, and I get why he's angry, I'd be angry and throwing random "insults" too all the time if I too was as mentally-lost and incapable of performing well in basic reading skills.
If PvP is ever released the noobs i speak of will whine that they can't win because they haven't grinded for high level mons. Or because they haven't got a clue about type effectiveness so they'll whine my Machamp is OP when it demolishes their Tyranitar.
The salty noobs will be unleashed, just you wait ;) more popcorn needed.
You can be the very best and be proud of it. Go ahead and become the best pogo player in the world if that makes you happy. If that's the challenge you want to set up for yourself, no one is stopping you. Just don't come back here complaining that the game poses no more challenge for you once you reach the top.
These types of posts are getting out of hand. I hope it wasn't something I've said that have inspired this type of thing.
If you're not happy with the game then stop playing it. If it's not what you want or need as a time killer then don't play it. Why invest time into something thatdoesn't make you happy?
At this point the game is what it is. Accept it as it is or be patient and wait for it to improve. Otherwise go clean your bathroom or get a job or secondary job or learn a musical instrument or something. Just about anything is more productive than a mobile phone game.
If it doesn't make you happy or you dont enjoy it then move on. At the end of the day this is pokemon we are talking about.
