Is Tier 3 Raid Boss Ninetails soloable?

On three tries with the following teams I did not even get close, never getting past the third member (so that is all I listed). I don't think I even got the Ninetails into the red and most of the time I was getting three charge moves per attacker. Makes me wonder if Ninetails defensive stat is so high as to make him not soloable. What do you think?
Lineups and results (F=fainted; TO=timed out) were:

Team 1
2555 Golem RT/SE L32 F
2502 Golem MS/EQ L31 F
2489 Golem RT/SE L31 TO

Team 2 and 3 (same)
3400 Ttar B/SE L35 F
3276 Ttar B/SE L33 F
2555 Golem RT/SE L32

I have plenty of L30+ double rock Golems, but so what. The fourth through sixth ones in my first line-up never got a chance to get in on the action.

What I see: Perfect level 40 Omastars no dodging...maybe, 3 seconds to spare...against the easiest move set

RT/HP perfect level 40 175.4 seconds against ember/heatwave...they barely die so don't need that many of them at least;)

Ember is legacy. Ninetales Raid bosses either have Feint Attack or Fire Spin.

There is a -1000% chance I'll ever waste a free pass on a Ninetales, late at night I was looking at Pokebattler. Niantic is playing tic-tac-toe level manipulation with us regarding this boss

Thanks. I guess I will not waste any more time on trying to solo Ninetails.

I think it's like Flareon - might be possible with a team of fully maxed CP 2850 RT/SE Golems, and even then it might take some luck. I sure wouldn't be able to do it with the team I have now. According to Pokebattler, it would take me between 203 and 212 seconds, depending on movesets, with my best counters.

Thanks. I guess I will not waste any more time on trying to solo Ninetails. At least I know it is not 100% due to bad playing on my part that is the cause.

Pokebattler is hosting a contest to solo ninetales. https://articles.pokebattler.com/2017/11/06/announcing-the-1st-pokebattler-contest-solo-a-ninetales-win-a-year-long-pokebox-membership/

You need your golems to be at lvl 37 (15 atk) to reach the final breakpoints in order to stand a chance.

In the matchup shown that's a 179s victory. So luck will play a large part in winning.

Here’s my attempt on a Fire Spin/Heat Wave Variant:

I do have Rock Throw Omastar (and he reaches the final breakpoint for Rock Throw). But only one. Clearly not enough lol

Really, really close. After seeing that I'm pretty sure someone is going to beat it soon, might be you

Great attempt. I wonder if your last golem had RB instead of SE you might make it.

Niantic did a great job of placing this boss and suddenly make a ton of players care about Ninetails when they had been considering it useless for so long.
:D

I agree, but I'm not so sure about them placing Marowak a few days after the Halloween event ended, when everyone has been transferring Marowaks by the dozens.

Hi :-)
I am level 39 and I succefully soloed Ninetales :-) 5 days ago
As it was my first attempt on Ninetales I didn´t know it was specially difficult, in fact it wasn´t. I used 3 vaporeon: level 32 HP, 33 WP, (about because I now have power them up to attempt to do it again -usuccessfully) and 38,5 HP. And 2 gyarados: level 38,5 perfect IV bite HP and level 38,5 91% IV bite HP. The last one may have been a Gyarados as well, or more likely one of my 3 best dragonite with STAB: - CP3453 lvl37,5 100%DTO - CP3455 lvl38,5 89%DBO or - CP3478 93%DTDP.

And I never dodge. :-)

I guess I was lucky with a few seconds left.
And the Ninetales I got in the bonus challenge was 98% :-D. Look that was a real fairytale :-)
