I got a Tangela with 100% IV Vine Whip/SB. Is it worth powering up or save the candies for Tangrowth in the future?

Tangela at mid-level CP 1200ish or so is a great prestiger, but even when fully powered up pretty much useless as an attacker or defender. Save your candies.

Never mind, it worths because of its 100% IV, but wait for the final evolving first, then power it up if you want.

I like Tangela. Agreed, it is not an ideal Pokémon, but in the current meta, I would say it's far from useless.

Perfect IV's with optimal attacking moveset? I've spent stardust on far worse...

Imo max it out haha I don't see many counters to watermons, eevee is rare, plants are too
I have an 85 tangela that I've been powering up slowly because the only other good mon I have is a perfect victreebel and like 2 or 3 decent jolteons (I am lvl33)

Waiting a year or most likely longer seems not only exaggerated but boring, when generation 4 releases you will have a maxed out perfect tangrowth so it's worth it to me

A 100%IV-Tangela with best movest is still a Tangela with best moveset.
It is worth to be powered up to 1500-1600CP and is a perfect prestiger against vaporeon and rhydon.

1500 -1600 is much too high, with dodging a Tangela can take out a Vaporeon twice its CP and you won't find a 3000+ Vapo at the bottom of a gym. At least not here, 2500 - 2700 is common.

(1) With dodging bug, it is fine to have some cp left.
(2) If i notice that i don't need my 2nd solar beam, i keep it for the next defender.
(3) I don't prestige against only one defender. If a 3100 Gyarados or dragonite is there, i use my 1600ish Piloswine or 1600ish Lanturn. So i can use my 1600ish Tangela too.

But this is my way to prestige. I don't go for strictly 1000 points, i go something above 700 is fine for me.
