A Tale of two Snorlaxes... RNG?

I had an incredible experience this evening. As a rural player without any nearby spawns or pokestops there is only one thing I can do at home: Walk in my 100 m long driveway for egg distance (at least the GPS works at home). I was fairly close to hatching a 10k egg, so I started to walk while using incense (the only way I can ever catch mons at home). I wasn't expecting much as the most "exciting" catch - until I started hatching them - had been sudowoodo.

I almost fainted when my incense suddenly spawned a snorlax! Caught it with a razz berry and a blue ball (out of ultras). Average moveset (ZH/HS), level 24, CP 2104, 47% IV. But a snorlax!!!! I couldn't believe it.

Then it was time to hatch my 10k. I wasn't expecting much as I had caught a pineco earlier (recently I caught a pineco then hatched one, caught a mantine then hatched one). But then it occurred to me: I had last caught a snorlax! Surely, it couldn't be?

But it was! A CP 1875, level 20, 80% IV snorlax!!! Stangely, it got the same moveset, ZH/HS.

But imagine that - I got two snorlaxes in one night in my own driveway! RNG, or incredible luck?

maybe luck for you in your area but my area i can catch 2-3 or rarely sometimes 5 lax a day.

Using a tracker? No such thing here, and I wouldn't want to use one. If not, you are really lucky.

yes . everyone use trackers lol and i have friends i live in asia where pokemon events are mostly happening here

Out of curiosity, how many Snorlaxes have you caught? And also the other rares - T-rexes, Dragonites, Blisseys etc?

No, he didn't win the game. He uses a tracker, means he doesn't even play.

This reminds me of my first 2 Snorlaxes. Caught my first (ZH/EQ), 300+ CP and then 15 mins later hatched another, (L/HB if I recall correctly) 1700+CP. Don't know whether they were connected events but that was a lucky day indeed.

Yeah, it's weird. All of the three Snorlaxes I have were hatched from 10km eggs within days of each other. Haven't seen or hatched a single one since then.
