Suicune catch issue
Hello guys,
I've done 13 Suicune raids so far and it seems the ones with good IVs are almost impossible to catch for me.
I've encountered 4 above 1590 (1590, 1591, 1594 and 1603), on every single throw I used gold razz, curve and great (at least) on the 4 of them, they go...
All the others I met (crappy IVs), I almost used nothing on them and throw without any curve and 7 out of 9 were caught...
I mean should I stop using berries and throw curve/greats because it seems to lower my catch rate a lot.
Any imputs, advice?
Thanks in advance because I start getting really frustrated by this ;-)

RNG is everything, what we can do is to maximise the catch rate to 15% by curve ball excellent. Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qdjCk-cT08&t=0s
By the way, I am curious about your capture rate in Entei, is it good? I got a decent capture rate on Suicune, but I have been fleeing a lot of Raikou these days, even though I kept using the same excellent technique.
Entei capture rate was really good tbh, even if I'vent encountered one above 1918 in 45 raids.
I used the same technique on Entei: gold razz, wait for his attack and aim for at least great throw with curve. My catch rate is above 70%.
I was also the Entei catcher of my group (caught a 1926 and a 1922 for 2 friends).
But Suicune isn't the same story, gold razz, great throw with curve on every single throw and every time he ran away. What really surprised me is that I almost caught any other Suicune (with low CP) without using a single razz and no curve...
For another anecdote on luck, I didn't encounter a single legendary with IVs above 90% when lugia and the birds were out. I encountered (and thankfully caught) a single 90%+ raikou over the course of last month. After completing just 4 entei raids so far this month, the two I've caught were 98% (1922) and 96% (1919).
I'm pretty good at catching them too, my first entei was 1913, and I hit it with first ball. I caught a 1924 for someone on their last ball using this trick:

I don't know how people catch them consistently without throwing this way, a lot more would run from me if I did not use it.
No, your best chance to catch it is still to use golden razz, curves, and ex/great/nice throws. Luck evens out over time. I thought the higher IV legendaries were harder to catch than the lower IV ones when the birds were out, but now I've caught several high IV dogs without doing anything differently. You just remember the high IV ones that get away more than the low IV ones.
I've had 6 consecutive curved excellents with gold razz on a Tyranitar (which has a higher catch rate than the legendaries) without catching it, it happens.
Using the catch calculator here, for a Raikou, hitting it with an excellent curve using a golden razz with a electric gold medal, your chance of catching it is still only 15%.
Think of it as a roll of a die, where you have a 16.7% chance of getting a certain number. Can you imagine rolling a die 8 times in a row without getting a 6? If so, you can imagine a legendary escaping from 8 straight excellent curved throws.
Sometimes I begin to wonder that whether you catch it or not is somewhat rigged. IV's for particular player are set so same can be with catch rate. I caught my 100% Suicune on the first throw. I went for great throw + curveball + golden razzberry. It was my second encounter - first one I failed to catch.
On the other hand - on my mom's account so far count is 0/2. IV's were not great. It still broke out of excellent/great throws.
Don't give up - luck will eventually turn around for you. :)
I guess it’s mostly luck (after, off course curveball and golden razz).
Case in point:
I am now 5/11 for Suicune, and many of the escapees were rather low ones, even if I tried my best to catch all of them, too. The ones I got were 84,86,88,88,100, in that order.
The perfect one I got just yesterday with the 2nd throw. Pure luck.
By the way, I will keep attending Suicune Raids. There is a second perfect one somewhere out there …
My suggestion is, with the target circle lock method ( or ProdigiesNation method etc ), leave it at the default 50% size ( ie, u dun even need to change it ).
Then aim for consistent Great+Curve, deliberately making it off-centered to hit to the correct zones. See this test ( https://youtu.be/7tOs9tsNkrk ) on curve ball zones. I believed ProdigiesNation also had a similar test confirming this too.
Since I'm throwing counter-clockwise, I make sure most of the balls land either at the top or left side of the circle. This has been serving me quite well, with 21/29 Suicune, mostly using just normal razz. For Raikou, it's 4/5 now.
Ironically, most of my Suicune failed catches were the ones I tried with Excellent Streaks, as seen here ( https://youtu.be/r5Of75ZkqUM ). While some RNG definitely in play here, but I also believed it's due to the curveball bug hitting the dead zone which is likely when so close to the center for excellents.
Curve ball bonus is a major RNG multiplier. Just a curve ball without any throw bonus is slightly below a normal Excellent throw, so it's very crucial. U be better off hitting Great+Curve consistently, than to get mostly Excellents, but some of these Excellents didn't get the curve bonus registered.
Until Niantic fixed this curveball bug issue, my advocate is just for consistent Great+Curve on the correct zone.
