Sucker punch vs hex on gengar
Which do you prefer? SP is faster and has higher dps even without STAB. Hex has slightly better eps. This site says hex is better but the numbers don't really support it.

The problem is that Gengar is that it is a glass cannon and you are really "making your money" with Shadow Ball. Therefore, since Hex allows you to fire SB sooner, it's better to have. The difference between firing off 6 Hex and 2 SB vs 7 SP and 1 SB is huge, while the difference between 7H and 7SP isn't that much.
Put another way, ignoring energy for taking damage it takes 4.8 sec for Hex to charge ShB and 4.9 sec to SP. Adding the damage contribution could change the difference a bit either way but it will still be very small. My guess is that the number of times you can actually get an extra ShB out of hex is very small.
I powered up mine from lvl 18 to 36; 15A made it "cheap" to get breakpoint.
Imo:
* it is a top tier DPS charger in upcoming raids (if not the best DPS charger). You could see it as every cTM you invest you is an investment in a mew, a mewtwo and somewhat a celebi raid counter.
*You more or less need gengar to solo alakazam.
*It is legacy making it somewhat exclusive
*one of my favorite pokemons as a kid.
Raiding with it my feeling is that you need to get one CM dodge in order to get any feeling of DPS effect.
Depends on what you raid, lvl etc.
according to pokebattler at lvl 35 (seems to be the same on every level) dodging only charge moves
SP is better in raids against:
Mewtwo
Hex is better in raids against:
Alakazam (?)
Mew
Celebi (close though)
If I had to take one, I'd take Hex. The DPS difference is small and no real difference. The only raid it might make a difference is soloing alakazam.
