Strategy for saving revives

I am running low on revives, but today I managed to do 2 Kyogre raids and to get my raid team back I needed only 3 revives (plus more than 15 Hyper Potions). The trick, of course, is to switch out mons in the raid before they feint. Easier said than done. Blizzard and Hydro Pump are so devastating it is difficult to swap before they hit. I had better success with Thunder, as I was able to do significant damage but duck out near the end before feinting. In the first raid the app crashed when I ran away from the battle after all 6 of my mons were exhausted, but I was able to get back in.

Of course this uses more potions, and some mons need a Max Potion to come back from near death. But I have over 400 Hyper or Max Potions and yesterday I was down to 0 revives and 40 Max Revives.

Anybody else tried this strategy for saving revives, or have any other strategies that have worked well?

Spin more gyms for revives.

Use Snorlax/Blissey if you play in big groups where damage doesn't matter. Just start out with a Raikou one or two and finish with Blissey.

It's a selfish strategy, but it is Niantic to blame to not differentiate in larger groups.

I think I am part of the 1% of players that actually needs to THROW AWAY revives to make space for pokeballs, so no. And battling doesn't help either. Most revives go to the few 6-12 Pokemon that I lose during Kyogre raids and I still have to throw them away in bulk. I even end up reviving gym-defender fodder 'cause it feels "bad" to throw away the revives when so many players around the world could have eaten them instead. #FirtsWorldPokeproblems.

I am that person. I like farming stardust on our campus, where I have all 9 gyms at gold and many times at least half of those gyms are controlled by my team (Mystic)

I just dodge the charge moves and then swap.

Dodge glitching out is the way to ensure you don’t actually faint.

Beyond that. On the off chance that you haven’t fully powered the fainted attackers, you can power them until you get 1-4 HP and then potion them. Basically you are using dust as a revive.

Modt people low on revives seldom do tier 3 solo. I have 400+ between revives and max revives. If you want 50 revives just do a solo tier 3 every day next week and switch out mons. It’s simple.

It’s really your choice. Do you want to do all Kyogre raids all the time, or do you want plenty of revives.

You don't have to cheat or be a puss and play blisseys in raids. As someone said, spin pokestops and do low tier raids with garbage pokemon (that don't require revives) for a few days. If you don't do a kyogre for a few days, you'll find you have a dozen regular revives again.

One thing I really find annoying is that when you switch to the next pokemon before it faints, it comes up again if the next pokemon is oneshotted and faints and then you either loose time by switching again or it faints before you manage to do so (since it is already very low in HP). The system should work so that the next pokemon in line automatically is selected as the next, not go back to the previous one..
