Still no research reward limit?

Not too long ago I remember reading that they would impose a limit of 100 on how many field research rewards one could save. They then postponed it for a week or so because of a bug.

But just now I went through all my saved up rewards (better use the 3x dust event as much as possible) and just for fun I counted them all. It turned out I had 119.

So, did they scrap the idea of a limit or is this a new bug?

Admittedly I might have gotten a few of the rewards before the we got that 100 limit, but surely my old saved ones would count against that limit as well? I seem to remember them (Niantic) telling us the clear the old rewards so as not to miss out on any when the limit was imposed.

Anyone else experienced this?

P.S. Spent over an hour catching all the pokemon, as well as a few wild ones and also hatched some 10km eggs.
All in all, 140k dust and 50k XP by just sitting by my computer (drifting sorted out the final hundred meters on my eggs).
Not too bad ;)
