same dilemma for me here. my first steelix had that moveset and i had more than enough candies to power up the second one, which i got iron tail and crunch. not sure which one is better for defense, i think unless you get earthquake, hes pretty solid on defense.i do think dt/hs is better than it/c tho. dt/hs would be just as good against dragonite as well, but typically if your going to attack into steelix, your using charizard, machamp or vapoeron anyway.

I have a 88% IV Steelix with Dragon tail/ heavy slam. This moveset is rated A both as an attacker and defender. I know that Iron tail would be the best option but onix is very rare for my area and idk what to do.. evolve another one ( but have a chance to have a worse moveset) or power it up. ( hoping for gym rework to be a better defender). Thx!
