Squirtle CD. Needs sunglasses (or Blastoisinite)

What would make Squirtle Day compelling to you? I've already caught a ton of them from the Water Festival to the point where I'm sick of looking at him. I might change my tune if they give him some cool shades though!

I'm not excited about a Squirtle day. I had a perfect squirtle but I already evolved it way before there was any such thing as exclusive moves or TMs and it got useless moves and sits unused in my dex. So the chance I get another really high IV squirtle on CD would be pretty low and I would be unsatisfied. If I participate it will just before the shinies.

I'm not too excited because first of all, shiny blastoise barely looks different and isn't that appealing of a shiny form, secondly i don't see any possibility of him getting a move that will make him useful for any situation given his defensive stat typing. maybe they will give him a move thats super awesome as a defender, giving blastoise a chance to compete in the gym defense game. now if they did the squirtle squad version with the sunglasses? that would be the greatest thing ever and I'm reaaaaally hoping they do that, he would be my buddy pokemon forever

I caught a perfect Wartortle a while back, will be used for the exclusive move.

Have a 98% Wartortle and my squirtle starter to raise, so kinda' looking forward.

Though honestly, the only way that I can see it being worthwhile is if Hydro Cannon somehow turns out to be the strongest of the 3 starter exclusive moves.

Shinies and extra dust is really all I can think of. Even at that it's shiny isn't /that/ great so I wouldn't mind sitting it out. Hydro Cannon won't take Blastoise from zero to hero unless it's pants-shittingly broken.

Well you can bet your bottom dollar Squirtle CD will be on a Sunday this time so I can take part & add to my hundreds of candies & numerous Blastoises. They keep the useful CD's for Saturdays only, lol. Even with a superpowered Hydro Cannon unfortunately poor Blastoise won't be the best at anything, he's still a popular mon tho so peeps will want the shiny & probably a dust bonus will be enough to get plenty out there catching. Larvitar a tough one to follow whoever it was gonna be.

Hydrocannon needs to be 2 bar 150 power or something and 2.5s CD for any effect...not sure if that's going to be enough

Given that Blastoise is more defensive, if Hydro-Cannon is a great defensive move, and it is paired with a good defensive quick move, preferably something that hits grass and electric hard, it could be good to have one or two of them for defense, or gym sweeping. But I don't see Blastoise replacing Kyogre or Gyarados. It could pass Vaporeon if the move is good enough (in the same way that Raikou is better than Zapdos because of Wild Charge). We'll see.
