Special Item before AND after iOS update
Don't jump on me for RNG, but this makes me wonder:
- did my 7 day spin, got item (not updated iOS)
- at home, saw the update finally available in App store and installed
- went out after the update, at the very next Pokestop got another item (but not a full streak bonus).
So, possible for some bug that a setting marked in old version didn't get reset in the update? Or (far more likely) simple RNG....
Wife has her 7-day on Sunday, so unless the update becomes required to play, there's an opportunity to experiment in a couple of days...
At the very least, this confirms:
1) can get an item from non-updated iOS version
2) can still get an item from normal spins

This early, early morning (1am to be exact) was my 7 day streak and at the time the update roll out wasn't available for me. So I spun a Pokestop and it gave me a Sunstone. So that leads me to believe the guaranteed item for 7 day streak is independent of the update. It's probably just a server side activation. So even when your game isn't updated to the latest, you will still get an item for the 7 day streak. Just experience for my account.
