Soloing Machamp, Easy?
I've tried soloing Machamp twice and have been thoroughly crushed both times! I thought this was an easy Tier3 to solo? I am using an Iphone 5c, which I blame my failures on. But is that the case? Is it my lineup, or lack of skill?
Here was my lineup:
2354 Alakazam PC/FS (89 HP)
2427 Alakazam C/FS (90 HP)
2020 Alakazam C/FS (81 HP)
3040 Dragonite DT/HU (143 HP)
2414 Dragonite SW/HU (128 HP)
2425 Dragonite SW/HU (130 HP)
Problem is, with zero dodging, the Machamp (with Counter / Dynamic Punch) can easily take out my entire crew in 100 seconds! So dodging is necessary, but it's quite difficult with the Confusion Alakazams.
What usually happened is that all 6 of my mons fainted, and there was at least 30 seconds left in the battle. But worse, the Machamp still had 1/4 HP to go, so it seemed hopeless to me. I suppose if I was better at dodging Dynamic Punch, things might be better, but it didn't seem like I was even close. I should note that all my lineup is level 30 or less, the three Dragonites are all under level 30. I do have Dragonites up to level 35, but they all have DT/O.

This is true.
Also your crew is pretty boarderline strength wise. I think you may be able to do it if he has C as a charge. Add to that what you already know, with Alakazam, if he has DP you are very likely to catch a DP out of damn near nowhere (I've even had them stack). I much prefer Pc as a fast move against an unknown moveset Machamp.
Besides that, I have a newer iPhone and have problems very rarely. I used to but now that I restart the app prior to every battle they are significantly reduced at least where I have good reception.
My phone doesn't seem to help. When the battle starts, the clock is already at 176 or so, and it the "Times Up" message also seems to appear a few seconds before the clock hits 0.
I also attempted an Arcanine today, and although this seemed a lot closer time always ran out just as it was feinting.
The only Tier3 I have managed to solo is Gengar. This is because I have four B/C Tyranitars. But of course, the one I faced had Focus Blast so I had to figure out how to dodge that.
I managed to soloed machamp on 1st try with this team.
But it has close combat so it might be easier ( only solo 1 machamp so far)
I use iphone 5s
I do closed pogo and clear my ram before doing raid and start pogo at the gym to make sure the connection is ok (some is very bad ay my country)
I am not dodging, only try with my first mons (espeon), and i found dodging machamp is hard for me so i stop trying
Use all my mons to beat it with 20 second left..
Absolutely! And you get multiple chances so you'll get the hang of the different movesets. One great thing about solo raids is you don't have to get too stressed out about losing. You can throw different setups at him and try a little dodging, or no dodging, or up your DPS and lessen your resist mons (for timeouts). It truly is a great added aspect of the game.
