So what did you think about the event?

I know it has been overshadowed by the new gyms, but how do you rate the recent event?

For me, it was one of the best ones. Gaining nearly 1,000,000 XP total and leveling up to 35 isn't bad for a rather casual player like me ;) The XP gained just for catching mon was insane with lucky eggs (this was fortunate because I wasn't able to walk much due to heavy rain, but could still make a lot of progress sitting in the car with lures at a double stop).

Best catches: 2 Lapras! Never mind both are < 600 CP, it was just so cool see them appear.

It was pretty epic. Even without grinding every day, I am within 500,000 xp from level 38.

I caught 2 Lapras, and hatched 1, which allowed me to max out my 100% Lapras.

Made a killing on fire candies, 400-500 of the 4 I was going for (Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour.)

I didn't get out as much as I would have liked, but I managed to get 35 too (congrats to you), and caught a handful of Lapras including a 'amazing' lvl28 Fb/Bl.

All I wanted was a wild Lapras catch...and I got that, so I was happy.
The rest of the candy was indeed welcome, so I can now power up a 100% Charizard As/Oh

I was lucky to hatch 4 lapras - including a 10O% one - during the egg event, so the low levels of my wild catches didn't bother me. Made them easy to catch ;)

In say this every time but I might not be able to say it next time around. Best event ever.
1.7M xp (wish I would have don't 300k more for 35& raids)

Highlights include but are not limited to:
3 wild snorlax
100 Lapras candy (edit: I guess I did start out with35 or so. I have 100 now)
250 Sneasle candy
300+ Charmander candy
a pleasant number of Typhlosion&Magmar
silver dragon&ice medal, gold ice&dark
filled out all missing entries except regionals, muk,&unown.Had candies and pre-evolved forms on hand, finally used em with lucky eggs
And most importantly 4th&5th Shinykarp: #5@75% highest one so far; dt/hp
Oh and I caught #6 today. (Humblebrag)

I walked a minimum of 12km a day every day. I was most surprised with Sneasel. I was catching up to 10 a day every day. Lapras was a welcome surprise but i was expect to see a lot of her. 2 wonders both 84% but I transferred one. Mostly super low CP & poor IVs however I caught one at 2100&69% too! I saw plenny Vulpix but not a single Ninetails. Only saw one Jynx all week.

I made trainer friends for the first time too! Some of my towns most recognized profiles for the first time. Although when one guy came up to me and asked if I was playing I totally knew who he was and called him out. I low key creeped on him taking down my gym a couple weeks back but didn't introduce myself haha. I was surprised to learn that they all took a notice of me too but I guess it makes sense after how many times I tore their towers down. Wasn't expecting to have such a reputation!

So close to 35.... Just do some mass evolutions with lucky eggs - easy with the new search function - and you'll get there soon enough!

1.5m XP + 1 hatched chansey + 1 hatched Lampras (double water move)...It is really nice.

The event got me to level 32 and I managed to get enough candies for my Typhlosion and second Charizard. I was hoping to find more Lapras, but only found one. 1896 cp both water attacks and decent IV unfortunately.
