So, shavers will be shaved?

"In addition, opposing teams will battle the Pokémon in the order they were assigned to the Gym."

6 available spots.

No need to spend extra time prestiging.

Shaving will not miss a beat. Heck it might increase in more competitive areas.

Shavers will just have to shave the whole gym...(if same team)...

"You battle them in the order they were placed"...is different to "they are removed in the order you battle them".

You seem to be mixing up the 2 systems.

It appears that you may be able to remove a defender that has been there a while (as it's CP drops), rather than the last one in.

At this point it sure seems like if they still give coins, then the game is going to turn into multiple multi-color accounts to quick take down a gym. Then immediately jam in whatever Blissey you have available & stuff more in from same-color multi-accounts. Hit as many gyms as possible & hope you survive long enough to collect. Spoofers will rule as usual. If coins go away then who knows - lol.

It depends if you can knock off pokes or if you just have to beat the gym X number of times to reduce the pokes happiness and then the whole gym falls at once.

Since there is no prestige it will be interesting to see how this works. Can someone knock off a poke or 2 and then only fight 4 mons but then 2 more spots are open? Or after so much battling all 6 mons and the whole gym falls.

I think the new system has you collecting coins when the pokemon returns back to the trainer, not a daily button. So, you just put them out there, and hope they return, but with coins. So if you are shaved, then at least you get your coins.

That would be amazing. Sure seems like it would reduce incentives to cheat and hold. I am hoping with you.

Ha! No this makes an incentive to stick a Magikarp in, log into my wife's account, take it down asap, collect, repeat. Sounds like a cheater's dream. They can sit at one gym all day and collect, all you need is a second account.

My guess is you still have to stay for 21 hours to get anything...this eliminates the whole constant spoof, retake with multiple account thing...

In 21 hours, with only 6 mons, it'd be VERY easy to take gyms so unless you have an out of the way gym, it'll be VERY VERY hard I think to get coins...

My guess is 10 gyms is pretty much over for a lot of people...(me included).

With raids maybe as often as once or twice a week, you'd be kicked out when that happens too.

If they still have to stay in 21 hours, then no, useless to have multiple accounts to het your magikarp back. Also spoofers wont be able to get in gyms quick and press a button. Of a spoofer spoofs in a gym, and them they get knocked out before 21 hours, they get nothing. Seems prettu fair

Verified the above answer by NianticIndigo: "A Pokémon will earn PokéCoins based on how long it defends a Gym. Once its motivation meter is empty and it's defeated in battle, it will return to its Trainer and come back with PokéCoins." ...
Seems like it turns into a spoofers game for coins. Multiple multi-color accounts to quick take down a gym. Then immediately jam in whatever Blissey you have available & stuff more in from same-color multi-accounts. Hit as many gyms as possible, collect as many coins as allowed & hope you survive in some long enough to collect more. And they will probably figure out how to create bots to feed berries so don't even have to bother spoofing to do it. May be more worthwhile & time effective to take down the gym than to shave.
I hope this isn't how it goes.

But there's one other little thing with spoofers doing it. If it gives coins just for being in the gym, then yes it can be abused. If they have to be there for so long then not so much.

And since you have to battle pokemon based on the order they were put in, spoofers could also have to start "sharing the wealth". If they put a pokemon in and someone else does too, they knock their own out with a different account and put it back in, then they have to battle the other player's pokemon first and help them get coins. So it might slow em down when they have to start sharing the wealth with other players

Yes, figure out some system that will let Spoofers and bot work for everybody!
