Today was the worst, where the countdowns were spread across 8 seconds.
40 35 32 seconds for example.

8 seconds isn't bad at all, actually. My first few raid bosses, I was 105 seconds behind everyone else, so one time my group already won the fight before it even let me in, so I got nothing and had to try to fight it myself. 75 seconds is definitely nowhere near enough time to solo an Alakazam, so I ended up just wasting my pass, and the ~100k stardust I spent in preparation while I waited for everyone to get there.
Anyway, like the other person said, it's when your phone's clock isn't synchronized exactly, so you need to go into the settings and check the "Automatic Date and Time" box. That fixed it for me.
