So hold off on evolving until the gym rework?

Is that what people are doing? It shouldn't matter, right?

I'm holding off on any significant evolves and power ups. Never know what they might change or "balance". Nerfs/buffs etc.

Could regret it if they make some movesets legacy but also can be positive if some mons/moves get buffed and you have saved your candies.

Its this close now might as well wait. I'm still evolving pidgeys and rats etc. in between catching mons with my lucky egg on. But I'm holding off on doing any other evolves right now.

I dropped 250 poliwag candies trying for the ever elusive rs/dp (which I just noticed: ruby-sapphire/diamond-pearl!) Now I'm 0/6 still have enough candy on standby for one or two more. I also caught a 97% Psyduck that I just had to evolve.

I would recommend evolve whatever you want, especially if you really want something. Keep in mind It would be in your best interest to keep enough candies on hand to evolve at least one to the max of everything you can.

Crazy, I have two of those. I could not get a C/DP Machamp though. BP/DP four times in a row! RNGesus is a real mystery sometimes.

Any double fighting moveset is good for snorlax, blissey, rhydon and tyranitar

that's what i thought! Already have a 91% Machamp with C/DP and a Poliwrath 100% RS/DP, but obviously i will power the first one

While true, Bubble-DP is just as good.

Bubble while it will lack a "SE" against those produces about 40% more energy. And DP is such a powerful Damage Per Energy Move, that you won't notice a lot of difference.

When I tried it in Pokebattler
VS Same Tyrantir, both came out with same exact HPs left on Poli, and Bubble was 1 second faster.

VS Same Snorlax
Bubble won 9 seconds faster with 7 more hps left.

Long Story Short. Don't at present work on getting Rock Smash.

Bubble > Rock Smash on every you'd be tempted to use Poli for.

Like the other reply said. Dual Fighting is great. More power to stab. Machamp may be ideal but is unviable. I live on a coastal region and am drowning in Poli-. In the time I've evolved 6 Poliwrath(and at least one -toed), I've accumulated less than 200 Machop candies. Don't even get me started on how many times I may or may not roll bullet punch. Similar details for the hitmons. I've caught at least one of each but only one -Lee was fighting/fighting, and it was more of a defensive set. Furthermore those candies are hard to come by too.

Moves may change , so it may be the last time you can try for this specific move you want
Holding have potential so is evolving , I would say keep the super rares ( Tyraniter or dragonite or so ) and evolve any thing else you want to try for a specific moveset

Only days away. I would wait if you're concerned. What I want to know is if it's safe doing a mass evolution. I'm waiting for a double xp event but that may not come for a long time. Idk

I assume Niantic will do another event for the July 4th week as it's their actual 1 year anniversary of when PoGo launched...

Save your candies, eggs, whatever...dust...

Just evolve away, but don't power up or transfer. This time around there will be no new moves introduced (not until gen 3), they might however rebalance moves, but that can't be helped, you get what you get, if it's good or if it improoves with the rebalance, be happy, if it's bad or it's nerfed, that's just life.

I'll evolve as soon as I have the candies and dust, why wait? Who knows what will change, and what moves may become legacy?

I figure I can always evolve another [fill in the blank].
