Snorlax Zen/heavy slam

Hatched one (my first in 7 month)
Is he useful for attacking gyms or just grind for higher gym placement?

You have a perfect Snorlax for defending a gym.

I would suggest powering it up and placing it in a gym

Oh. Heavy slam?

Before when you posted BodySlam it was no question, hands down a good defender to put in a gym but i'm unsure about HeavySlam as BodySlam is better with STAB. You can try it out and see if you like it.

Its better than HB when defending at least.

Definetely worth investing in. Best move set as Specter said indeed.

Z/Heavy Slam is still maybe the third best defensive moveset for Snorlax. A lot of people use Rhydon against Snorlax, and rock is weak to steel. :-/

exactly, heavy slam can do amost the same coverage function of ZH, well noticed.

Edit post as I thought we were talking about Body Slam:

If you are unsure, wait with investing until Gamepress releases their results. That's what I would do in your case.

Its a good moveset.

Pros:
Great against Golem and Rhydon;
Hits fast.

Cons:
Hit 0.8x water Pokémon, Vaporeon can do great.

IMO ZH-HS will be the new best moveset for Snorlax (of course after ZH-BS), since Hyper Beam is so easy to dodge, EQ do the same damage but need 100 energy-3.5s cooldown and HS is only 0.2s slower than BS. I'd go for it.

Oh, I always forget that water resists steel. That might hinder its strength some. At least with Body Slam against Rhydon the STAB offsets the resistance.
... Well, Heavy Slam does deal 40% more damage than Body Slam, so does cover the lack of STAB and a little more.

The biggest difference is probably just the energy cost.

I dunno how the AI will perform with HS, but BS is used almost every time and can go 4 times in a row, its really painful. I would like to read something and understand how this new Gym Mechanics work, maybe HS can be used like 3 times in a row too.

Yes!!

I have experienced the horror of being hit with 4 bodyslams in a row when prestiging against my Snorlax. The AI is getting smarter and learning to use its charge attack when the trainer is in the middle of a quick attack or cool down of a charged attack. The damage adds up so quickly.

Thanks guys but is he and his moveset good as an attacker, as I can't put him in a gym till I get 40 candies ( >2800)

It might work okay against Rhydon or another Snorlax, but you probably have better options for those already.

I'd say he is B for attacking and Lick-HS A. Heavy Slam will be great to destroy Tyranitar, who will start to take the top of the Gyms.

This is a sad case. Save the candy.
