Snorlax power up

I have enough candies to power up one of my snorlax to maybe a 3000cp. One has legacy moves zh/bs but only 33iv. The other has the new zh/hs but with an 86iv. Both currently are around 2500cp. Which would you recommend?

'save your candies'

That was a message from a Niantic employee recently.
I won't be powering up anything until we know what that means. I would hate to spend hard to get candy, and then find out they meant half price power ups, and not double xp.

I have no idea what 'save your candy' means - but I am going to save my candy.

Then I would feed that legacy ZH/BS all it can eat.

I personally think that was just a stupid PoGo reference with no real meaning by the employee, and we're looking too hard into it.

With that said, I hadn't thought about half-price power ups, and I'd really hate if they did that. The gym metagame is already broken and CP-dependent enough.

Before anything was even said, I was wondering if/how they might allow us to rebuild our attacking and defending mons list, after such a big shake up - and half pirce power up was what I came up with...along with dbl stardust.

I just made 'save your candy' fit my own personal preference I guess - you may be right, and it may mean nothing at all.

The 33IV guy might have a significantly lower CP than the 89IV guy at the same level. With a pokemon like Snorlax, his Attack IV is most influential on his CP.

I'd save the candies for a bit unless you NEED a big defender ASAP. Like someone said you never know what the "save candies" might be for.

Half-priced power ups? Maybe 100 candies to reroll your moves? Never know.

I'd wait to see if anything shakes down in the next month or so. I just hatched a ZH/HB Snorlax that I want to power up but I'm waiting.
