Snorlax Power Up

I think I already know the answer to this question, but figured I would ask to be sure.

Caught a Snorlax today, 82% IV (highest I have by far) with the ZH/HP moveset, but the CP is 269. I have 75 Snorlax candy, do I even consider trying to power this one up? I cannot imagine I should, but everything else looks good.

Depends, how good are your other Snorlax? You will use up so much star dust and I do not know if thats worth it. Even if your next best Snorlax only has 60% the CP difference compared to your 82% is not that much!

in my opinion it would not be worth it to power that one up since it is that low of a level. I also think, that in tearms of defending movesets, ZH/BS would be better because hyperbeem is just so easx to dodge.
But this is only my own opinion. Do what ever suits you right, the game is about having fun :)

Assuming the attacker dodges every charge move hyper beam still deals more damage. People will choose to dodge hyper beam more and just take a body slam does bring it more into play, but if they choosing not to dodge it doesn't really matter at that point. It's going down.

I have to agree with fluffyfirefly when it comes to ZH/BS moveset. Definitely best moveset for Snorlax when it comes to defending gyms. I had mine with the ZH/BS moveset in a gym for about a month as a bottom mon.

I have 2 that are 91 and 93 iv in the 1700-1800 cp range that I don't power up because it would take too much dust/candies.It would take 70+ candies to power them to 30, that's the equivalent of catching another 18 snorlaxes, odds are you'll find something better.

Powering that thing up to be gym defender relevant sounds like a life project to me. I've only caught one Snorlax with Lick/BS, 91 IV, 1149 and no matter how bad I want a Snorlax to add to my gym defender team I don't try to power it up. He is extremely useful for leveling up friendly gyms though.

If you have 75 Snorlax candies you have to have a better Snorlax to power up.

In my experience, I would wait. Your best bet is to wait to hatch a Snorlax from a 10k egg which will likely have an 82% IV or to catch one with a higher CP, hopefully with a decent IV. I wouldn't invest in an 82% IV from a CP of 269. With the few Snorlax that I do have, powering up is a pain even at 2293 CP.

Snorlax is more suited to defence.So if you are poor of stardust，I suggest that you focus on Dragonite 、Vaporeon or Lapras（ if possible）.
The best skill is body Slam.It happens too fast to dodge
