Snorlax with lick/earthquake for defence?

A snorlax was hatched during the event, but it is with the worst moveset, lick/earthquake 93iv.

Anyone power up such snorlax for defense? Please share your practical experience. Thanks.

P.s..: i can power it up to 3xxx if it starts perform reasonably good defensively at that level.

It's w/o a doubt it's worst moveset and a toothless defender. It's slightly more annoying to beat than a Vaporeon w/ WG/WP. It places below high level Rhydon and Garys, and might be easier to beat lol depending on whether or not Gary has DT. I would highly advise you to not waste precious candies and dust on it.

I have powered mine up and it is my biggest regret.
It is a terrible attacker because earthquake is not very effective against most of the gym defenders like vaporeon, gyrados, and dragonite.
I can find a better pokemon than this snorlax to use in almost every matchup.
It is weak on defense mainly because lick barely does damage and earthquake is easy to dodge in my experience. (Zen headbutt would be better.)
The only use so far is its high cp for high placement in gym.

If you have enough candies, than you most likely have a better one to power up, even with worse IVs.

Lick is great in offense, but terrible on defense. As for EQ, it's just one of the worst moves of the entire game. It does not very effective damage to most common defenders and on defense it's incredibly easy to dodge.

How about power up a low level 16 snorlax with ZH BS 55iv attack 15?

People have powered up optimal legacy move sets BS and DC w/ worse IVs. That is a candidate for a power imo. BS is such a fun moveset to use and defensively we already know how great it is.
