Usually, if there is on sighting, the pokemon should be near with you The most recent update allow you to see nearby( at pokestop)and sighting(around you)
I think that it can be good solution if you post in to your area pokemon group and ask people scan for you ( but if u r nt really wish to depens on tracker. Den u need find it yourself.
Or if after 30min, it despawn so u cant c it maybe.

It happens. Sometimes they despawn before you can find them. Just have to keep searching your area.
