Is Slaking Worth Anything on Defense?

Goes down about same as Chansey. So, not worth much attacking or defending. Is it better than Muk even?

Nop destroyed a 4.4k CP slaking with my maxed Machamp(don’t remember if weather boosted) before he got to ever cast his 1 bar charge move. If he lands a charge move on you it might One shot or nearly kill off 1 of your attacker but not reliable enough to warrant heavy investments.
I plan to evolve and eventually power 1 up with good IV have Play rough on it and drop it every now and then in a gym but it’s not a priority.

SLAKING SUCKS

play rough slaking will wreck players that don't dodge, and a lot casual players dont

Today I watched one YouTube video showing level 40 machamp against level 40 slaking with play rough, it takes the machamp 15 seconds to kill off slaking and slaking only able to deal one PR and machamp survives it without dodging. Thus I conclude slaking is weak defensively as well.

For the next few months, Slaking will get fed lots of berries from trainers trying to mine candies. Other than that, it seems like one of the best defenders after Blissey (which really isn't saying much).

Play Rough is two bars and has an early dodge window (similar to Stone Edge), making it difficult to avoid. It also does a lot of damage if it hits against Machamp (Ttar and Dragonite as well). I would say that he's inferior to Blissey, Snorlax, and Chansey, but he's not completely worthless with PR. Earthquake and Hyper Beam are too easily dodged.

Is alright as a defender but I can definitely tell you it is a cool trophy being that it has 4k cp.

If yawn has a reasonable EPS and Niantic would quit randomly spot-nerfing, it might be worth something. Until then, no.

Nope. I used it to solo a sableye raid the other day. It was moderately acceptable but I still would rather have my dust back.

Should they give it Body Slam then it might actually be a threat.
