Should i power up this Snorlax?

Hey guys. I caught this Snorlax in the wild and im thinking about to power him up. Since i start playing (im 29 now) i never got a decent Snorlax in the wild (this is the first time) and never hatched one. His stats:
82.2% IV (7 atk, 15 def, 15 hp), moveset Lick/Body Slam and 1535cp.

The worst thing is that he got 7 atk iv and a moveset A to attack....im confused.

Yes, power it up: it has good IVs (though IVs really don't matter all that much) and a moveset that'll be very good for attacking and decent for defending.

Take the ratings on Gamepress (and any other site, for that matter) with several grains of salt. First off, there's really no such thing as a "bad" Snorlax defender, only movesets that are more or less good. Snorlax's high CP means that you'll be safely perched near the top of gyms, and it's high HP pool means that even with a subpar defending moveset it will take out a good chunk of an attacker's health. Then there's the issue of how to rate the moves themselves: for example, I'd argue that so what if you have lick? Body slam is the most difficult of Snorlax's charged moves to dodge, and will more than compensate. Finally, from a practical standpoint, how many more months do you think it'll take to find a Snorlax with comparable CP and IVs and a better moveset? Go ahead and enjoy the 'mon you have now. :)

I don't think the defender rankings are that precise and they are potential subject for future changes as they depend so much on the "AI". I would be happy with that Snorlax.

Also, like said above don't worry about IV's. Your Snorlax has 187 attack (* level modifier) out of 195 (* level modifier), so around ~96% of perfect.

I would power it only if i had more than 120 candies. Otherwise, waste of candies imo.
Wait for Zen/bodyslam even with lower IV

Agreed. I think people give way too much importance to IV and not enuff to CP for the rare stuff.

I'd probably just walk around with him for a while and see what happens. The IV and moveset are fine, but it's gonna be a bit before he becomes gym relevant. If you get up to 30-40 candies or so and haven't got another you like better, I'd start thinking about powering him up.

Sure...i will wait more untill level 30~31 and try to catch/hatch a better one (im 29 actually). I have only 22 candies for now so i think is the best choice untill i got more candies. Thanks.

I didn't hatch my first Snorlax till level 30, and had only caught one in wild 1149 cp, 91 IV with the same moveset... I didn't power him up despite my extreme desire to have a strong Snorlax and use him to walk around and level gyms... So I get it. You have a few more candies than I assumed you did. If you stock enough to where you can get him over 2k CP, I'd go for it.... especially if you have another to walk around with while he's in gyms....

Unless you've got plenty of decent defenders, stick him in a gym - he's still a decent defender at 1535 and just power up&max potion when he's kicked out - saves your revives for other Pokemon and he'll still be doing a decent job.

Im actually with a Lapras 2493cp, 82.2% IV and Ice Shard/Blizzard as my main defender. I have lots of great attackers but only 2 defenders. Dreaming with a defender Snorlax with move A or a SW/DP Dragonite. I will try a massive dratini rush on this Haloween Event.
