I would like to get some advice..
I have an 14/15/15 Entei and would like to know if you consider this one valuable enough to power up.
It's my strongest fire Pokémon and i don't have a moltres. Not sure though if it is smart to spend my stardust on him while gen. 4 is about to come around the corner.

You said it yourself, it might not be a good idea with gen 4 around the corner.
Entei is good, it’s bulkier than Moltres while dealing a little less damage. Both could be outclassed by Heatran. But it’s an investment, you have 2 Entei candy and rare candy is better spent elsewhere
We also will have Blast Burn Typhlosion soon from a community day.
After all that if you’re still lacking fire attackers and there’s an immediate need for it, power it up
Not yet. Don't throw it away, but see if you need it badly before Heatran comes on the scene.
Preliminary hints from the Niantic tease are that Giratina is the first G4 legendary boss, which suggests that Palkia and Dialga are next (probably Dialga last because, as a Dragon not weak to other Dragons, is a very good Dragon killer, so Niantic won't let it out before the other Dragons of this generation). So Heatran may not be out for a while. If you REALLY need a strong fire attacker and don't have Charizard (blast burn or otherwise) and can't wait until November when we will almost certainly get Typhlosion with Blast Burn, then power it up.
That's a baller Entei, which makes it worse to say no for two reasons.
1. There's no immediate need for fire types at the moment. Your dust and rare candy will be better spent elsewhere
2. Gen 4's imminent arrival. The point of better/more easily accessible fire types incoming has been beaten into our heads enough that it bears only mentioning without going into elaborate detail. A new point regarding Gen 4 is yesterday's mention of stat rebalances, namely CP and stamina in this case. Entei's base stamina is the highest among all fire types and within the top 20 in the game. While we have yet to see how these changes will affect the meta we can't rule out the possibility of Entei getting nerfed as a result.
It's a good Entei and will likely remain a top fire attacker for some time but there are too many variables in play right now to justify the immediate expense.
Three days ago I'd say "Hold off until we know what Gen 4 is going to look like."
Today I'm saying "Hold off until we know what this CP/Defense Stat/HP Stat Rework is going to look like. And also Gen 4." It's quite possible that Flareon might become a better investment overall than an Entei (better Attack, better Defense, low HP but if that gets a buff...). And when Heatran is released, it's very likely going to be a far better investment for Rare Candies than Entei no matter what happens with the Stat Reworking.
Which sucks because that's a great Entei.
