I caught three in the first half hour alone.

Wonder if a number of these events will feature pokemon with shiny versions and elevated shiny numbers.

Or i understand that there are shiny sprites for almost every mon already in the game and theyll activate them.

I caught two in a row!

Wow, I didn't think the event started until tomorrow! Hope we get them here too.

I might assuming the OP is referring to their experience in the eastern hemisphere

Between 2 ...we got 13 shiny.
10 for one and 3 for another.

Of around 50 people at the park and as far as I can tell everyone got at least one shiny.

Is it better to be at a park for 3 hours? Or at a place with generally high spawn rates? (Harbor for here)

I went to my park for a bit but there didn't seem to be anything special? I instead just went to the high-spawn rate areas.

They seemed to be every where...but the park was awesome. They seemed to be common from lures.

Most in the area went to this particular park as it is the biggest nest in the area, the most stops in one place, and is also the local EX raid park - it is always popular even without an event.
The shopping centre across the road had loads of spawns too, so I guess they will be in high spawn areas.

I would suggest lures....they last the whole event

I feel you, no shiny whatsoever, despite 1.5 hour of non-stop shiny checking all Pikachu around me...

Ah well, this was to be expected since I got no shiny Magikarp during the water event and no shiny ghosts during the Halloween event :/

I've had a shiny Raichu (caught as Pikachu) before this event. Now I wonder if these evolve into Raichus or they stay as surfing Pikachus. Also, why are they literally everywhere? They're supposed to be in parks, but the bank and the post office are not parks.

Yes, I got one, but crappy IVs, ready to be transferred after being put in a gym, despite being my only shiny Pokémon.

There are 3-5 Pikachu around every stop/gym here. Six stops in my village, got 1 shiny (my first ever) among 20 Pikachu spawned.

I am not going out for these shiny Pikachus, sorry little interest.. Another example that Niantic is overdoing things in their eager to please trainers at all levels

I too have little interest in obtaining them, however, I am going out and dropping star pieces + incenses (the few remaining from leveling up bonuses) + dropping lures in an area I presume will have many people playing + using the special incubators, alllll in hopes to rack in a plethora of stardust

25 Pikachu caught. No shinies.
