Shiny Magikarp
What's the highest Chance of getting one? Raiding or going by the ocean and catching them?

Agree - there's a small Magikarp biome near me, and I hit it regularly on the way to and from work when I'm not running late. Caught lots of 'karp there, never got a shiny. Put on the hat, and the very next one I caught was shiny. Haven't gotten another, despite putting the hat on and off. Might be that the hat unlocks a very small chance to get one, or makes it go from, say 0.001% to 0.1%. Not sure, but it helped me. Any other anecdotal evidence for the hat?
