Shiftry solo report

I found a Shiftry raid (T4), and was able to solo it on the first try. The boss had razor leaf + leaf blade, which is probably the easiest moveset to solo. No weather boost, no dodging, and I won with 9 seconds left, with the following team in order:

L40 Scizor FC/XS 15/15/15 (CP 3001)
L37.5 Scizor FC/XS 15/13/15 (CP 2879)
L34 Pinsir BB/XS 12/13/7 (CP 2599)
L31 Pinsir BB/XS 15/10/13 (CP 2531)
L32.5 Pinsir BB/XS 10/13/15 (CP 2576)
L33.5 Pinsir FC/XS 10/14/11 (CP 2594)

I ordered the attackers based on Pokebattler time to win. I was on the last Pinsir, which had about 80% of its health left, when the Shiftry boss fainted.

Leaf blade barely dents the Scizors, who did about half the total damage. The Pinsirs go down quicker, but can still eat three leaf blades before fainting on the fourth.

This will definitely be tougher against the other boss charge moves, and I'm not sure my team can do it yet. I have a little bit of time to spare for dodging, but not much, and some dodging will definitely be required against foul play or hurricane.

Perhaps going with fire type is easier? Moltres with either overheat or SA, entei, BB Charizard?

In any weather, the bugs are superior to any other options, due to Shiftry's double weakness to bug attacks. In neutral weather, nothing else comes close, but in various weather boosted scenarios, other pokemon become usable if needed to fill out a team. That would include Moltres with FS/OH in clear weather, Moltres with FS/SA in windy weather, and Machamp with C/DP in cloudy weather. But even at level 40, none of those pokemon can do the job without Scizors and/or Pinsirs on the team to get ahead of the clock.

Sadly, it's one of the only raids where Bug can shine :(

EDIT: Shiftry is double weak to Bug, which is why its superior. (Unless in clear weather where Moltres with OH is probably better)

Actually, with most of the T3 raids now being trivial to solo, I started looking for other uses for the bug team, to make things interesting. It looks like this same bug team would make for a very challenging but doable Claydol raid, and could be used to solo Deoxys attack as well. And in rainy weather, there are a lot of interesting possible uses for them.
