Sharing my dejection while asking a question

So I took a personal health day today. Had some things to do that needed to be done before tomorrow. So on my home from a task I walked to one of my neighborhood gyms and got to a TTar raid at the 55 minutes remaining mark. I sat and waited for those 55 and no one else showed. I live in a major city and that is usually a really fought over gym. My question, are Tar raids now not drawing bodies or am I just super unlucky?

maybe people are chasing raids at sprints and starbucks? is it a sponsored stop? non-sponsored raids are getting no love here either.

These days, I've found that raids (even legendary ones) rarely get attended to unless someone has advertised it advance on Facebook or Discord. Even then, sometimes it can be tough to assemble enough people.

We don't have any sponsored stops here, i.e. no Mewtwo yet :(, so that's not an issue, but many folks are suffering a little from Entei fatigue, often just using their daily free pass.

Without a Raidgroup on WA theres almost no chance you find people even in biger cities. But in my town we still go to TTar if we have the time and enough people to get there.
But you might just be unlucky. Ttar is the rarest Raid so far for me.

It was not a sponsered gym. Thanks for the input. I am just annoyed with it all. I just want a couple TM's and my teams are not quite good enough to do lvl 3's alone because I need to change some moveset. It is a vicious cycle. This is probably the 2nd or 3rd TTar raid I have seen in my from home gyms since raids started so I was hopeful.

dude yeah i'm sorry, i know exactly how you feel because when legendaries came out this summer, i was on maui visiting my parents for a few weeks and i was soooo excited and hopeful too and tried to raid at least 10 times hoping, wasting around 15-20 hours of my life that i cannot get back, lol, only to end up with a group of around 3 at the most. it was very depressing. this game is tough on rural players plus as DrAzzy said below, school started.

I don't think any raid reliably attracts people during the work day. Very few people are free during working hours - everyone's got school or work.

All schools were closed here for Jewish New Year. I was hoping that would help bring some people out.

Since I live on the south side of town and work on the north side, I drive through downtown every weekday.
Everyday this week I've tried to put together a Raikou raid on my morning commute (8-9am), lunch (12-1pm), and evening commute (5-6pm). So far I have been successful in rounding up people (out of a pool of over 600 on groupme) for exactly ZERO raids.

It's not uncommon for good high tier raids to go unvisited. I have been noticing an uptick in interest in T3 raids, probably since you only need 1-2 extra people.

My opinion is that raids just cost to much. At first we spend money like crazy doing has much raids as we can to get the Pokemon. but now that we have them it's a matter between do I really want to spend $$ to power up my T-Tar from 2485 to 2515 and 500 extra star dust and probabaly no Rare Candy or Golden Raz. Many trainers are saying flat out NO

Surprised you weren't able to get any for a t'tar, people are still up for those.

There is certainly Entei fatigue where i come from, one month for each dog combined with more frequent spawns than we got for the birds is too long.

Would be nice to see more variety, or some big addition that distracts us from raids a bit.

I think you were unlucky. Was it bad weather? Only bad weather and/or a late hour (after 5 PM) would prevent a group from showing up for a t-tar or legendary in general in a city.

(If anything, t-tar raids are more prized where I am than the raikou ones. Plus, you need fewer people. I haven't done a t-tar raid in two months due to rarity--did three raikou raids just yesterday.)
