Registered the above to my dex this afternoon. Which can evolve into something useful, which are just dex entries and which will I soon get sick of seeing (like Gulpin)?

Beware of putting trash in gyms in high turnover areas, it's like wasting 1 gym defender slot, and asking for more attackers to come, which is not what you want in high turnover areas.
Even worse if it's in the first or second slot, it's like saying "Please shave me!" A few days ago, someone slotted a Pidgey in the first slot in one of my nearby gyms, and it didn't even last 10 minutes. The rest of the gym lasted 2 hours though.
Nothing lasts in my area so everyone decided to put trash. A machamp can mop the floor with most stuff out of a top gym that has a Blissey, Wigglytuff, Dragonite, Scyther, Tyranitar, and an Alakazam. Maybe a Dragonite would pick the leftovers if the Machamp fails to finish them off. But we mostly just take turns and only kick out majorly demotivated gyms.

Would be funny, too bad I'm pretty much stuck in Romania. I did at some point put Lickitung in, but only when 2 guys kept taking over the gyms I've just took over (had a Blissey and a Granbull with fairy moves in there) a mere 15 minutes after I left. Though they weren't Instinct, they were Valor. I rarely see any yellow gyms here, and when they pop up, they're usually putting shinies or fancy stuff in there. Even before the gym system changed, they did the same and it was funny, good for dex views too.
Seriously? 4 total or 4 types? I'm already sick of wurmple.
Has it been partly cloudy? eevees are obnoxiously common during partly cloudy. Otherwise, I'm up to 26 Gen3 already and that's mainly from my own neighborhood and at work.
Maybe my luck is weather/biome synergy. We've got grasses out the wazoo so the entire Sceptile, Shiftry and Breloom lines are finished.
