Seven Charge TMs later, Still No Dazzling Gleam

Seriously, the TM system in this game is pretty damn infuriating. I just want a gardevoir with dazzling gleam, damn it!

I've spent 8 CTMs trying to get DG with no success. It can be frustrating but I quite like the element of uncertainty you get with RNG. I've been lucky with CTMs a bunch of times so it all balances out in the end.

I agree. If it were too easy to get the move you want, everyone would have the same moves on their pokemon, and there would be no diversity.

I have the same problem with Machamp's and Dynamic Punch. I don't even try anymore - once I get Close Combat, I'm done.

I hate to be that guy but... CC doesnt hold a candle to DP.

The moves I've spent the most Charge TMs on are Lapras' Blizzard (which I have) and Dragonite's Outrage (which I do not).

If you have a legacy Lapras with Ice Beam, that's even better than Blizzard. But can't get those any more.

Not sure why you were given a thumbs down. Ice Beam is better than Blizzard.

Raw damage wise its pretty much a tie, with blizzard only a tiny bit ahead but the flexibility of IB makes it considerably more useful.

I guess it's just a special case where the 2 bar move doesn't completely shit on the 1 bar (I.e. WC shits on thunder and DP shits on CC) so in that case IB is 'bad'

All of my Articunos were Ice Beam, so I TMed my best one to Blizzard and powered it. Was this a mistake? I'm not liking the results so much, especially with the high attack power of Rayquaza

I don't get Dynamic Punch with CTM's - I get Heavy Slam or Close Combat. So when I get Close Combat, I stop trying. I've wasted about 10 CTM's on Machamps trying to get DP, and I MIGHT have gotten it once. MAYBE.

If you seem stuck in a loop, try restart the app and wait a while. Might be some temporary RNG-glitch.

Today I had 11(!) back and forth cTMs on a Scizor. I restarted, and voila, I got the desired moveset next try.

Of course I am not certain about the mechanics, but it cost nothing to try. :-)

Nah, it's been 7 CTMs over the course of several days. :(

Yesterday for whatever reason I was feeling out of it and decided to just waste half of my Charged TMs on stuff i wouldn't need.

- 6 Charged TMs for Leaf Blade on Sceptile
- 8 Charged TMs for Dazzling Gleam on Blissey
- 4 Charged TMs for Stone Edge on Aggron

Really no clue what I was thinking last night.

Ah, the days when a perfect IV, super rare catch that you walked for weeks became absolute garbage due to RNG. Yeah I remember those days. I still go through some mild PTSD episodes everytime I evolve something and it gets Steel Wing/Hyperbeam

Hahaha I'm also a member of the combination Steel Wing/ Hyperbeam frustration foundation. Probably nostalgica feelings, but that was to me also the charme of the game back then

Fourteen charge TMs on a MewTwo and still no ShadowBall.

Makes me not feel as bad about evolving 2 Bagons into Salamance plus 4 TMs to still never get Draco Meteor. My shiny Dragonite has it though.

I've found that patience and time is the answer. If I'm say, TMing a Machamp with Close Combat, and I get Heavy Slam, I don't TM again until tomorrow. And then, the next day, I usually get what I want. So try doing 1 TM and then waiting another day to try again.

5 charge TM on a vape to get HP when I should’ve kept AT. Haven’t used a Vape since and have no more charge TM because I only solo tier 3 raids. I hope my stupidity and misfortune makes you feel better

I feel your pain, spent 8 CTM to get Avalanche on my perfect Piloswine. Sometimes RNG just screws you over.

It took me 6 Charged TMs getting Future Sight on my Espeon, but in the end in practice I think Psybeam is better lol, rip those 6 charged TMs.

I have 2 96% Kyogre with Blizzard. I tried during 2 weeks on both, every single CTM I earned (about 10) I used trying to get HydroPump. It's really boring this system, but better than nothing lol

Nothing compared to Xenoblade 2's rare blade RNG.
