Scizor with Double Bug Moves?

I finally got a Metal Coat earlier today.
Evolved my 87% Scyther to Scizor.

Result:
Fury Cutter + X-Scissor

At first I was kinda disappointed as I had my eyes set on double steel moves, and only wanted bullet punch iron head.

But... after looking around a bit and reading a little here and there, I'm starting to think I may have actually got the overall most useful move set.

A lot of mention especially on his ability to completely destroy Exeggutors, and overall general resistance to allot due to his typing making a good general attacker as long as you avoid fire.

What do you guys think ? Is a double bug moves Scissor good ? Could it actually be his best move set ?

And is it worth powering to lvl 30?

Congrats.

A moveset that has both moves of matching type is preferable, especially for Scizor

Yeah i much prefer both to match, either both steel or both bug.

Like i said...at first i was disappointed and thought only BP/Ih was good, but i think bug moves may be very useful actually.

Just trying to make sure before i consider powering up

I got one two days ago. Pumped it up to 2500 and it absolutely destroys Eggs. Really fun gen 2 Pokémon imo. You should consider that there are other Pokémon that can destroy an exegutor too. Some may argue that certain fire mons are even better.

I already have a bite and fire blast archanine which recks eggs, but Scizor is cool as heck and I think he's worthy of his own investment..

I think I am gonna power him to 30

I actually wanted a BP / xscissor moveset and I got it first try on a 88.9% perfect ATK Scizor. I like having the mix moves so it can fit more roles because they are hard to obtain. Also really good at taking Tyranitar as both hit with SE damage.

What you have will spam charge moves out and absolutely destroy any psychic type it faces. Exeggutor is especially weak to bug moves and will melt no matter what CP you leave the Scizor at.

Up to you on how far to power it, I leveled mine to 30 because it can also defend with its moveset. not an ideal defender but fun in more remote areas with low level gyms.

Imo you got the most fun moveset/pokemon combination in the game right now.

By all means play with him first and see for yourself before putting dust into him.

He is such a fun Pokémon to use, especially against Espeon, Eggy and Zam , if you could find them in the gym. I used mine against higher CP Espeon and he wrecked that poor dog!

I have a 97IV 1408CP Scyther with Fury Cutter/Bug Buzz ready to evolve. Fury Cutter is blindingly fast. I would hold off on the candy and stardust. Use him as is for now.
